Fixed stars influence in Opposition comparing to Conjunction?

Hi fantastic community,

As far as I know, almost all authors in traditional western astrology use only Co and Op as relevant aspects regarding fixed stars. But it seems to me that there is no much discussion and agreement on how interpreting the Op. In the same way, in the opposite way as the Co,…?

So I would like to ask you:
In your experience what influence has the Opposition comparing to a Conjunction of a body (or H. cusp) with a fixed star?

Thanks to all,

May your life be full of light,

Hi Aragon, thanks for the kind good wishes and may you be happy and well and create the causes of happiness

dr. farr has studied astrology for many decades
and would have responded to your question
but is experiencing health challenges currently
however he has stated frequently that:

'For a star to influence (according to most historical authorities)
it must either conjunct
or parallel
a planet (or Part)

or

it must be in longitude
or parallel
with the cusp
(or sensitive degree)
of a house.

Thanks Jupiterasc,

ok so you are not using the Op but the parallel by declination.
I guess with a similar meaning to the Co?
Do you use also anti-parallel (same decl. in opposite hemisphere)?

I use stars extensively but only via longitudinal conjunction or parallel of declination-I have never tested stars in opposition, so cannot say; however, Robson (Fixed Stars) believed that stars DO OPERATE through the aspect of opposition.
