Family astrological signatures across generations

I have a thought..... and I am interested in whether planets that are in the 12th (or maybe in other houses) house get passed down thru generations and emerge to the 1st, or down to the next house, or something........
I ask this only on the experience of me having pluto in th 1st and my mother having pluto in the 12th.
So if not across the board...but only in my case, am I exposing something from generations into the light?????
ie....from the 12th to the 1st.....from dark to the light....to the sun on the horizon....night to day......
Please tell me you're experiences and you're thoughts on my thoughts....
..are we growng from generation to generation.....I hope so.....

Pluto takes 248ish years to orbit. It will be in each sign roughly about 20 years. So, it is pretty common for this to be that way. [deleted attacking comments - Moderator]

Re: Pluto's transformation

...uh
Did you come out with those horns...or did you grow them later?
Yes...but not everyone is going to have the sign in the 12th and 1st
.....go on give me the statistics....and forget the bigger picture.

......did that make you

Not really, you don't seem like a big picture kind of person so I will yield back. FYI, there are 10 other houses. Your mothers Pluto will be 1/2 to 1 1/2 houses behind because of the age difference in the chart.

family astrological signatures, to I cee

I cee,

Family signatures have long been noticed in astrology: families will share similar astrological traits among them. Your idea of hereditary with family signatures is interesting. Do families have some sort of astrological signature that applies across generations? Do these family astrological signatures develop in some way from generation to generation? I haven't seen any studies done on this side of family astrology, but it could be a very interesting and eye-opening astrological research project.

In the family way,

Hi I cee,

You posit some interesting questions.
I will try to give my perspective from a karmic/spiritual standpoint.

There are many types of karma:
Personal, family, group, societal, collective.

Personal karma is going to be shown by the entire natal chart.
Family karma will be shown in the 11 and 12 houses, or more specific family karma in 4/10h.
Collective karma will be 12h, Pisces emphasis in charts, or a Cap Moon, or Nep/Chiron interaspects.

Families will often come back together life after life, working on individual and group goals.

It is believed that the entire universe is hard wired for growth, progress and evolution.
That is the point of life, death and reincarnation.
So of course we hope to grow from generation to generation.

Your mother’s 12h Pluto indicates personal/collective/family karma around use and abuse of power. The signs involved will give your more information about the specifics. And yes the 12h is the house of secrets and dark.

I think your idea has merit, whatever issue your mother was working on regarding power issues, you seem to have incorporated into your self system, it is showing up in your 1h. And yes, dark to light. Well said.

If still available, you might care to read Liz Greene's 'Astrology of Fate' which includes and discusses, as mentioned by Wilson, the relevance of recurring family patterns in charts.

Family dynamics appear to be more the rule than the exception to it.

Jupiter in a chart is said to be what the parents 'wish(ed) upon' and/or 'hoped for' the child. Most parents want 'more and better' for their children than they had themselves . This, in itself, is a form of growth pattern from generation to generation, played out within the context of an ever-changing world.

That's a very interesting thought, but I am afraid there are parents that don't wish for a better future for their offspring and are continously jealous and competitive of their children......a sad but ...true fact that society does not acknowledge......after all they are human, and humans are devious and fear makes them do horrendous things.....because......they....can...
My jupiter is in the 2nd and both my parents mars's are on my mc......??
Whatdayathink??
I remember thinking once that my mother was more like a jelous sister than a mother and....it turned out my father was....well... The same....
Words wound.....and I find it hard to forget...
I sometimes wished when I was young that I would of prefferred to be beaten....then I could of gone to someone and said....."look....what they did"
Words.....leave no trace....but wound deeply and.....I had no voice......like little arrows...chipping away....bit by bit

My own experience of the repetitive Moon-Pluto, Saturn Cap, Mars Cancer/Aries & Moon-Jupiter & Jupiter, in general mixed placements and aspects in my 3 generations of family (thus far noted - haven't stretched back to the ancestors I didn't know yet, ) I agree with the notion, but I never read Liz Greene.

I am a firm believer that astrology is the mastermind behind the science of Genetic Engineering. Like plants, animals and other fauna and flora - the strengths of generations rest in the survival of the fittest. Otherwise, would we be here to tell the stories?
Me,mum and nan have moon/pluto trine
I just love the patterns in family astrology....I have a earth trine, counting asc and my mother has a fire trine, counting asc.....same signature.....different tune....
