Empty 5th House means no chidren?

My husband has Virgo in his 5th with no planets. I have Taurus in my 5th with no planets. Does that mean we are not going to have children or simply that our energies are focused elsewhere? Kids are not a huge priority for us but it would be nice to know if we were destined to have them :)

Not necessarily. For your husband, since his 5th cusp is Virgo then the natal house position, sign and condition of natal Mercury as well as any aspects made by natal Mercury to natal planets would require analysis as to whether any potential for having children is indicated in the natal chart.

For you, since your 5th cusp is Taurus then the natal house position, sign and condition of natal Venus as well as any aspect made by natal Venus to natal planets would require analysis as to whether any potential for having children is indicated in the natal chart.:smile:

Look at the ruler of the sign in the 5th house. This is more important and predictive than sign or planets in the 5th. If the planetary ruler of the 5th is in an angular house or house following an angle then children are a good possibility. It the planetary ruler is also in a fruitful sign this may indicate many children. But in any case it does not over ride your free will in the matter.

There are other astrological indications such as the Lot of Children. However, I do not have time to explain it right now.

You'll find that lots of people have no 5th house planets, but still have children. The only thing that I've noticed regularly in the charts of people who wanted a child but didn't have any, is Moon in hard major aspect to Neptune. And I know people with such placements that do have children anyway!

Because Neptune is on your 8th, it is unclear whether the problem is yours or your husband's. But you are having trouble getting pregnant and there is a physical cause. Therefore I would see a specialist and have tests done to quickly find out what the problem is. It could be very simple. But you won't know until you are tested (you and your husband.)
