How will the moon as the most elevated planet play out in a natal chart? i found this interesting since the moon is supposed to be our more private side, so how will the moon being the most elevated (near the mc?) planet play out? does anyone here have experiences with this placement that they would like to share? i am also curious about other elevated planets in general, eg elevated mars, venus etc for example, please share your experiences

Hi neptune,:)
I cannot answer to all these questions, but I will answer about elevated Moon. You can get ideas about the rest of the placements you mentioned.

It means that sensitivity, emotions, nurturing/ be nurtured are very strong characteristics in you. It is possible that you are popular too, unless, of course that elevated Moon is afflicted in a way. It is not possible to talk about all charts in general. Each chart is unique and has different characteristics, even for people born on the same day. That is why we need the chart to be more specific.

The important thing to remember about the moon is that it is the link between past and present and future. You learn about your feelings, the way you feel affects or is affected by others from the past--- the sign and aspects are VERY important.

The effects of the moon can mean being loved or admired by the "public"...as the public is ruled by the moon....To having habits generated by early "programming"..because programming begins at birth.
The moon rules the Mother...and the relationship with the mother is very present and permanent...whether she is alive ...lives near you...or not...
We never "outgrow" our mother's teachings...whether conscious or not...supportive or undermining.
So our habits, especially emotional habits, are affected by our relationship with our mothers.

Also, the Mother is a role model...not only as a model as a mother...but also as a WIFE.....or partner. If we have parents who were not happy, not friendly, or worse...abusive to each other ....or one to the other...or using the children as a way to alienate either parent, then that is our role model for love and marriage and parenting.

So our attitudes toward love and relationships come from the past...in many ways...and hopefully if there are difficult aspects to the Moon, there are also supportive aspects to the moon...so there is some moderation.
The moon is also a "carrier" for genetic predisposition....like illness, addiction, temperament...often emotional behaviors are repeated from generation to generation.

So there is no such thing as Over studying....the Moon. Learn all you can about your moon sign and house in which is resides, and ALSO the house it RULES..wherever Cancer is in the chart. The moon will affect this house in a major way.
If you look you will find entire books just devoted to the Moon.
It cannot be underestimated....

If the Moon is very near the MC it can affect your career in a huge way. Also, with an elevated Moon you cannot hide your feelings...and if you have a happy moon, your feelings, whatever they are, will be your friend. If the Moon is debilitated ...and you don't like them or feel they are detrimental to you, it will be your enemy.

So examining your early life....honestly...is important.

I think a big part of your emotionalism....is your Jupiter in Cancer square Mars in Aries....it is a very frustrating aspect...and that can cause over emotionalism.
So not just one aspect defines you...although the Moon is powerful....and your Opposition to Uranus is often described as an aspect of abandonment. That doesn't mean physical abandonment..although it could mean that...but emotional abandonment.

When the moon confronts other parts of one's self...it is always tiring...and yes, you do bring that old energy with you into present relationships. It's almost inevitable...until you work through it...by being extremely honest with yourself --

It could be related to the caring professions as the vocation for the native with such a placement. He/she might also appear very emotional to the world at large.

Any planet near the Midheaven or ascendant shows up really strongly. Very conspicuous, easily recognizable.

χατυπερτερησις - old greek, elevatio - latin :)

One planet is elevated over other
when the first one is in tenth sign from the second one :)

For example:

- a planet in Aries is elevated over a planet in Cancer,
&
a planet in Cancer is elevated over a planet in Libra

Bouche-Leclercq "..L'astrologie grecque.."1899, Paris, page 250).
