Effect of the Aspects...

My wife's friend came over tonight and I asked her for her birth information. We started going through it and when I saw her natal chart it jumped out at me with a very large "!!!!!" feeling. She has Sun, Moon, Mercury, and Jupiter spread out within Aries, and opposite is Pluto. Saturn is in a square aspect to most of these as well, sitting in Cancer.

I have an understanding of the planets in the signs - but don't fully grasp aspects yet. From the little that I do know, this seems like such a turbulent chart. With the majority of her chart being in opposition to Pluto -- with a Saturn square -- it seems to me to be pretty extreme.

Am I wrong?

Birth Details: April 10, 1975 at 4:30pm in Kozani, Greece ( 21e47, 40n18 ).

Since I am much better at the organization aspect of these forums (uploading charts, creating new boards, providing links, etc.) I will do my part and leave the interpretation for others:

Aspect patterns

Yesurbius,

You are correct about the challenges of your wife's chart. However, you might want to explore aspect patterns in a chart. Learning aspect patterns can quickly get you a sense of which energy in the chart "fits together" and works as a whole. In your wife's case she has a T-square:

(bottom of page)

And an easy opposition (the bottom of the page shows a Mystic Rectangle - an easy opposition is half of a Mystic Rectangle):

In both these cases the energy points to a particular planet. The T-square points to Saturn (duty, also career) and the Easy opposition points to Neptune (spirituality). So we could say that your wife is strongly focused on duty and spirituality.

Aspecting in patterns,

P.S. Thanks for posting the chart, Maverick! :D

Yesurbius,

There is some information your wife's friend may find helpful on the "mercury opposite pluto" thread in the "ASTROLOGY NOW" section in this forum. Have you read this yet?
I have pluto in libra opposite my sun and mercury in aries, and in discussing this on that thread, I recieved some very detailed and helpful information from Amazon, another forum member. She referenced various sources and shared a lot of insight that your wife's friend may find helpful in her development.

My best,
Sita
