How could a reasonable person

Then, once seated in the pew
he exchanges a dummy round for the live round.
Here, we don't have to ask why.
Then he makes the decision to aim his gun
a gun that he is not certain is safe, directly at center mass

on Halyna's body.
His aim is so precise

that even at 18 inches
had he moved his hand right or left
only two or three inches he'd have missed her.
