Creating my Progressed Chart

waybread,

I have another question--what book or internet source can tell me how to deal with these transits? I know that some of the progressed ones are challenging just like Pluto / Sun now is challenging, and I'd like to devise my action and if necessary to work on changing my way of thinking....

Thanks!
I gave you these links in my post 2! :andy:

Your progressed venus has 3more years approx before it makes an aspect to your natal saturn. When this does happen it suggests you may well have to learn how to endure financial and romantic problems

Financial and romantic problems? Again? I have them even now! This does not make me want to live life! Seriously this is really really hard to take! More of those problems!!?!?!?! Even now I am not rich, in fact I am quite poor, and on top of that I am not over an ex. And now in 2-3 years, I'd have more of that stuff!!!!!?!?!?

How do you learn to put up with poverty? What else is there to learn except to learn how to live in a box in the streets? And as for romantic partners? I'll have to break my heart again!!!??!??! And I have to learn how to live with a broken heart???? But I am trying to learn how to live with this even as I write, and I find it barely possible, so .... what's left? Poor and broken-hearted! What's there to look forward to?

No, I have not looked at the links. Right now I am interviewing for jobs, and I have a lot of other stuff that I need to take care of.

I wonder, how come I am cursed--to watch all the time how other people make progress in their lives, and me to be just their well-wisher...

Anna, step one is to stop feeling sorry for yourself. You are a middle-aged woman who is old enough to have developed some personal strength and wisdom by now. Don't look to astrology to solve your problems. Take pride in your ability to live resourcefully and gracefully in the midst of poverty and your single status.

What Astrology Can and Can Not Do

Perhaps you should read this thread entitled: astrology predicts meanings, not events
http://www.astrologyweekly.com/forum/showthread.php?t=17546&page=2

Astrology can be used to help you in many ways. It can reveal damaging behavioral patterns or forewarn you of upcoming challenges. It can help you pinpoint latent talents you may possess and provide you with specific hints on how to best develop them. Astrology can also point out expansive, rewarding trends that are coming up and assist you in figuring out how to take advantage of them before they fade. Finally, astrology is an excellent means to determine the perfect timing for certain actions. http://www.cafeastrology.com/articles/whatastrologycandoforyou.html

The beauty of astrology is that it will help you to always be in complete control of your life. Astrology is not fortune telling: but it is a recognition that we have free will. We know we are not controlled by the planets, but the planets do create a certain atmospheres of constriction or ease, that keeps us on our toes. Alas, you cannot blame the planets and say, for example, Saturn made me do it! The few times I have said this to an audience, most people laugh it does sound funny.
http://www.cafeastrology.com/articles/whatastrologycandoforyou.html

The planets work to help us help ourselves. By applying pressure, planets help us to overcome inertia. At other times, they help us to see unproductive or even self-destructive behavior that we may have never noticed before but that we can fix. Astrologers believe we must be accountable for our actions and to recognize that we do have choices. The study of astrology will help you sort out all your options and to act at the proper time. http://www.cafeastrology.com/articles/whatastrologycandoforyou.html

What pride? There's none left of it! What grace are you talking about when I am being constantly shunned by others-professionally and personally. And it's not like I am not resourceful, persevering, and kind to those around me. For all of that resourcefulness, perseverance, and kindness I get nothing. And astrology is telling me that more of that nothing is going to come. I continue to remain where I am while others speed past me with the speed of light. I am putting effort in this life in order to see some fruition of my hopes, but there's nothing. I've been living on hope, and it ain't working.

And a progressive chart is not even able to give me some strength that I will see some fruition of all that effort? I get nothing in return? i only get to see how others make it? While i live in poverty and manage to live with a broken heart????? What are you talking about?

A50,
I just looked at the quotes you posted, and I've read Susan Miller's article. I wish my chart would start pointing to something good and expansive rather than to more and more constrictions. I've always had them in my life, and I sick of them.

Anna, I am sorry that you don't get it. Once you stop seeing yourself as a victim, and once you take more responsibility for your life, you may see some improvement. If astrology only makes you feel more victimized, you would probably be happier without it.

Hi waybread,

Yes, it seems that i'd be happier without astrology.

One thing I know for sure that I do is that I take responsibility in my life. I work very hard, pose goals, meet my goals, stay on target, and it's still not enough. I am still not where I want to be. How can I not be discouraged when I see that I work as hard as other people, but they are the ones succeeding and not me, and I do not mind their success, as long as I see daylight as well. I am sick of trying and not getting where I want to be.

Best wishes!

Anna, the solution is for you to create happiness in your life regardless of your material belongings or any jealousy you may feel about people who have more than you. Your personality comes across as someone who is very bitter about life and that is hard for other people to like. Take time to feel grateful for what you do have. And maybe volunteer your time to help people less fortunate than yourself.

I believe *spiritually* that we have a hand in choosing our natal charts and life path, parents and early childhood conditions to help mould us by circumstances, fate to help us along the path of *learning about ourselves and life here*

I have natal Pluto opposing natal Sun. What do I need to master in order to be happier? Your response is much appreciated.
Basic astrology
Now basically your sun sign is your 'core beliefs, values, ego' and Asc is your physical body, mode of expression and mask and persona that we all wear and hide behind, but definitely not what's going on underneath. What's going on underneath is your Sun sign. Moon sign, house placements and aspects describe your emotional and intuitive responses, also describes your view of your mother, as saturn describes your father by sign and house position.

So, think of a glass milk bottle the bottle is your Asc and your sun the milk, but the milk still has to 'come out' through the glass neck of the milk bottle....

Now aspects within a natal chart represent 'facets' of our personality, because we are all multifaceted beings. What these do is 'break down and compartmentalise' these facets into smaller bite size chunks. This does take quite a lot of self analysis and objectivity to 'see yourself' and why you do certain things and behave in certain ways. Actually it can be quite good therapy...

Remember back to your school days an opposition is 180', square 90', trine 120', and sextile 60' Now challenged aspects are conj (depending on the planets, cos some like each other and some really don't) squares and oppositions. Easy aspects are conj (if the planets get along) eg: Jupiter conj Moon, sextile and trine. Quincunx is inbetween (depending on the planets) causes health strains and unresolved or hard to balance planets/energies.

Sun square or opposition Pluto
People born under a challenging aspect between the Sun and Pluto are prone to inner tension and negative, self-destructive behavior. When things are going well, they suffer from fears that something will come along to change that. Their thought patterns can be negative, and if not kept in check, they can seriously undermine their happiness. Constantly worrying that the rug will be pulled from under their feet can easily become a self-fulfilling prophecy. Sun-Pluto have tremendous power and strength--when they learn to accept and use that strength, instead of fear it, they are some of the most effective, insightful, helpful, and healing people around

Sun opposition Pluto
The opposition of the Sun and Pluto shows a defensive attitude when challenged by others. You have a compulsive power drive that creates an aura of forcefulness. There can be resentment and defiance in your temperament. You may experience difficulties getting along with others until you learn not to be so assertive and defensive when you feel the slightest sense of threat. You must handle situations better when others disagree with your position. This aspect is usually subject to undergo major changes at sometime in life when a psychological realignment occurs. When this happens you become more self-assured and tolerant of others. http://www.skyscript.co.uk/sunaspects.html#suopl

I tend to agree with Waybread - practice the attittude of gratitude. Have you seen the DVD *the secret* or read the books?

Positive mental attitude goes a long way, along with creative visualisation.

What I do is move forward one day for each year, like you already know, using the same time of day that you were originally born. Then I compare the progressed chart to the natal chart, looking for aspects within one degree. I also compare the progressed chart for aspects within one degree. The timing of the progressions is during that one degree forming and leaving with the strongest influence when it is exact. Pay attention to the new House positions too especially MC and AC.

I feel differently about progressions being internal. I believe they are external as well as internal influences. They are more controllable when they are internalized but often they are events beyond our ability to control.

Do the progression for you last birthday and your next birthday so you know how much each planet is moving. Divide this by 12 to get how much each planet moves each month.

Notice your progressed Moon moves about one degree per month. This is the best indicator of the general mood of you life. It is like a calendar around which you can time things you want to do like taking a vacation or getting something completed.

I have found the transits are dates when the influences of the progressed planets are triggered. If something is not identified first in the progression it will not be a transit of huge significance. This has always worked for me.

There are books you can buy with interpretations of progressions but they are general. You need to look at the chart. What did the natal chart promise? How does the house influence what is happening? There are many possibilities so understanding is complicated. I usually get it after it has happened and then I can see, "Oh Yeah!".

The problem with doing this is you can become frightened of the difficult aspects and shut down and disappointed in the good aspects as they did not meet your expectations. So I do not think it is a good idea to dwell on it too much.
