LBJ as arguably the most influential president who actually moved forward the social liberal agenda, the Great Society with aid to education and the arts, urban and rural development, and public services, the War on Poverty, Social Security Amendments of 1965, which resulted in the creation of Medicare and Medicaid. Not to deny Kennedy's aspirations, but he didn't live long enough to do anything. LBJ did more than carry out Kennedy's ideas. They were also his own sentiments.
