Astrologer says i'm infertile

Hi there,

I've been a follower and contributor to this board for a few years now and now i have a question about myself. I went to see an astrologer which a friend recommended. My reason for the visit was because my husband and I are trying for a baby. We have had no known medical issues investigated (I am the female and I had some tests a few years ago that on an unrelated issue but came out fine). I am 28 and he is 34.

The astrologer said that he saw great difficulty ahead, which has worried me a lot as it's hard to tell what is wrong at this early stage.

I have attached our charts but my main concern is related to the fact that i also believe we have infertile pointing charts. I have mars in virgo in the 5th house by leo. There is a square between the 5th ruler, the sun and saturn, in the 8th. Also, moon in aries. My husband's chart also has a huge fire presence through aries and the moon in leo. I am also concerned about the combust venus/mars through conjunction with the sun, present in both charts. I do not see the classic fertile signs anywhere in the right places in ours, such as pisces or cancer.

Is anyone able to have a quick look at all? My chart is 'kkkk' and his is 'shhh' - sorry for the acronyms!

From a quick look, I think your astrologer is competent, if that's a concern. And it's quick because I don't have the time to spend on your charts. I am sorry, truly, that the outcome was such bad news for you guys.

Fertility is a difficult issue, and I don't know if you're going to get a truly qualified second opinion on a learning forum on the internet - but you may. We do have some talented folks here who may be willing to put in the time. I'm just not sure even if they did if that would change your situation any.

Did the astrologer you consulted have any suggestions? Or are you still just trying to take it all in?

I think that if i'm honest, it's difficult to take in because at the moment, we don't think there's anything wrong with us. We're young and i only went to the astrologer because of my prior knowledge in this area. The astrologer suggested undergoing fertility treatment straightaway

Your partner for sure does not appear to have fertility problems.
Where that astrology got the idea that you are infertile, I don't know. I will do a composite chart though and get back to you.

Hi,

In the female chart there are a number of aspects that could correspond to issues concerning child bearing, yet do not necessarily mean there will be no children. Venus square Saturn-Uranus and Pluto on the midpoint of Venus-Uranus are all important because of their associations with the 1st, 6th and 9th houses (health patterns).

I work with an astrological point called Black Moon Lilith, that has been observed to be of influence in non-physical (does not happen/exist) issues that as a result can, yet not necessarily does, have an effect upon the occurance of physical disorders. The MEAN position says much about issues from birth to puberty that have an inner effect upon one's deepest (sometimes hidden) feelings; the TRUE position seems to be of influence during middle age.

MEAN Black Moon Lilith is situated on 2+*LEO in the 4th house of 'family life', where it is within orb of a square to Pluto in its own sign in the 6th house. Scorpio has rulership over the feminine reproduction organs and is situated on the Ebertin 'Anatomical correpondences to Zodiacal Degrees' degree that corresponds with the fallopian tubes.

You placed your query in the psychological rather than medical section.
The obvious question might therefore be 'Do you REALLY want a child?' or is the desire based upon what is socially accepted? Is the Earth quality totally sure of its feminine and motherly instinct, based upon its own child experiences (ruler 3rd/4th in 12th house that may have internally influenced (B.M. Lilith) how 'family life' is experienced? Could 'the blockages' one builds up be more than purely physical? If there is anything from youth that the female needs to allow to surface (B.M. Lilith semi-sqaure Sun, ruler 5th house .....father figure relationship?), she may find that this can open the path towards conception.
That said, natal Sun is in the 6th house, which could relate to the physical fears that can go with a pregnancy.

The male has his MEAN Black Moon Lilith on11+*Scorpio in the 11th house on the Ebertin degree for the male reproductive organs and opposing natal Chiron on the 6th house cusp (conjunct her natal Sun) and quincunx the 4th house Mercury, ruler of 7th and 10th houses. The 11th house is very much associated with personal freedom. How would a child influence such an internal need?

Mentally calculating, the secondary progressed Sun in each chart is making important aspects to natal planets. These could be of consequence in the final outcome regarding parenthood.

Maybe there is simply a need to really talk to each other, get everything out into the open; As well as communicating each other's feelings in a loving way rather than through the best time to conceive. It does rather take the romance out of marriage.

Hi Claire,

Thanks for your response. I think my husband's chart has some positive moon aspects to his sun that might be helping. I think my chart is a tougher one due to hard aspects and overall, i've had a tougher life than him.

Thanks a lot Frisiangal. I think you are right about what you mention about parenting, especially with reference to me. I had a very strict upbringing. Also, i do have fears about pregnancy and all. I do want a child, the time is right but i just feel that the forces are against us. I do have deep reservations and unresolved issues from my upbringing and i have a feeling that any child that i do have will involve a recovery and learning process about this.

Hello Star,

I also have a very Fiery chart with Sun in Sag and Leo Rising. My 5th ruler is Jupiter which is in a fire sign (Aries 4)and square my Sun (28 Sag.) My infertility work up showed nothing wrong that they could find. My husband had a slightly abnormal sperm motility though. I went 7 years without contraception and didn't get pregnant, but I got pregnant after 1 month on Clomid.

Even with all those indicators of infertility, I managed to get pregnant, so keep the faith!

Interesting kite and grand fire trine. The trine to Neptune significantly alters the state of all your fire planets.

Venus conjunct Saturn/ Detriment Venus I've seen fertility issues many times. In this case the fire of Mars and the Sun "burns up" Venus and the Moon. No water or earth to speak of in the personal planets.

Briefly --

him -- ruler 5th is Mars and transiting Uranus (unexpected) will conjunct within the year - positive for pregnancy. But, Saturn is transiting through 1st house which is going to be restrictive for him and ends up being a negative. Could also be that the pregnancy is a double-edged sword for him - good in one way but many additional responsibilities which add a heavy burden.

you - your 5th ruler is Sun and Jupiter (expands) will be conjuncting within less than a year. This is very positive.

There are 2 positives and 1 negative .. very good chance of a pregnancy within a year.

Did not look at all aspects and there could be more that are negative/positive.

Hi - thanks a lot everyone. Naturally, i am concerned and i have been since my early twenties as i knew the ins and outs of astrology then. I'm really hoping it happens soon. I don't seem to have any of the classic womb issues women have e.g to do with periods etc. Im not sure what to do now. It's hard because i have nothing scientific to pinpoint a cause at the moment. I will prob start pre-empted fertility treatment.

Hi

what do you mean by the fact that neptune alters the state of the fire planets? I think the fiery presence is reflective of my fiery personality and my strong ambition. Its a shame that this is the downfall of that

Hi everyone

I just thought i'd give an update. I fell pregnant last month but ended up having a miscarriage. Absolutely gutted. I think we're glad to know that i can get pregnant but now i'm concerned the problems seen in the chart is related to this instead.

For Pete's sake, Star2858, what does your doctor say? And if s/he isn't a fertility specialist, have you asked for a referral? For how long have you been trying to conceive? (NOMB but these are relevant questions.)

Astrology has several indicators of fertility/infertility. But you know what? My "fertility" signatures are toast, yet I have two healthy wonderful adult children.

I think in Days of Yore it must have been harder for women to conceive than it is today. In addition to better overall health and nutrition, we have fertility treatments unavailable to our foremothers. But the evidence for problems with the old fertility signatures is if we start looking at charts of actual mothers. Their 5th house and lunar placements are literally all over the map.

Tell you what. Shift your chart from a tropical to a sidereal zodiac, and your moon lands in fertile watery Pisces. Your husband's moon would land in fertile watery Cancer.

I think this astrologer was being highly irresponsible.

Saturn in the eighth house squaring the ruler of the fifth house the sun and mars in the sixth house which might explains delay or health issues concerning child birth or child conception. Since you are a female, the moon represents your inner mother, it is in Aries in the twelfth house, hidden motherhood or undoing your mother self. Mars squares Saturn create frustration, anger and delay. Lilith in the fifth house is sexual and usually related to abortions and miscarriage.

To be honest, we only tried for three months and i did get pregnant. We were glad that to at least achieve that and i was definitely surprised. I went to see the astrologer because my own knowledge about astrology was making me cast doubts about my own fertility. I did not realise that having a miscarriage or having any more might be the problem.

My health otherwise is very good and although i am taking fertility tests, im not sure they'll find anything.

In her first post star2858 stated that 'The astrologer said that he saw great difficulty ahead.' We don't know if he mentioned infertility as such.
Maybe he was looking at the effect of the current transits Uranus and Pluto upon the secondary progressed Sun, ruler 5th house, in the 6th house opposing natal Moon (ruler 3rd house and I.C.) ? Secondary progr. Moon might also be in the 12th house?

I'm inclined to disagree with this view. Yearly pregnancies and large families would seem to prove the opposite.
Anti-conception has now been around long enough to avoid unwanted pregnancies. Yet, apparently, it does have its adverse side. I read somewhere that once off the anti-conception state it can take the female body time to adjust back to 'the normality' of a regular ova cycle.

'Trying for 3 months' as star2858 mentioned doesn't mean an infertility issue, which might be confirmed by the now new mums.

It takes the average couple from 6-12 months to conceive.

I know - I was surprised I fell pregnant because of the feedback of the astrologer and also my own analysis. The lack of water signs always concerned me as did mars in the 5th house. The huge fire/earth presence has brought great resilience and determination in me in other ways. I had no prior history of any gynaecological problem or family history. I had doubt on my husband but I think his chart looks better than mine and we have to assume the problem isn't his as I was able to conceive after all.

I had a look at lillith - it worried me that the 5th house placement of lillith suggests death of children, miscarriages etc. But surely many women have this placement, i'm interested to know how it turned out for them.

Wait till jupiter conjunct sun which will prove beneficial health wise.

I was also thinking the same. Hopefully Jupiter suggests expansion and it is also going to be trine the ascendant.

I think this miscarriage was caused by stress. I was under a lot of stress at work, so maybe you are right about the moon in the 12th house bit and undoing your self.

I will have to learn from this.
