asteroids interpretation synastry

Hello,

How do you read a synastry scenario where one person's planet (lets say venus or sun) is conjunct another person's love asteroid (lets say, amor, union, orpheus, aphrodite etc)? Is there a specific way to read it?

I think there's a connection, but I think the planet-to-planet aspects are more powerful. Like sun-Venus or Mars-Venus.

In working with asteroids, I generally just use the conjunction. There are over 20,000 named asteroids with ephemerides, and its possible to just junk up a chart in a search for some sort of verification that He loves Her with various asteroid-to-asteroid aspects allowed.

The one asteroid connection that I think is really powerful is if someone has a "namesake" asteroid. You can find these on the free charts pages at Astrodienst www.astro.com. Not everyone has an asteroid with their name on it, but if you find one, you can see where it falls in the other person's chart. You can also use cognate names in different languages or variant spellings. For example, "Mary" is the same name as Marie, Maria, Mari, Marisyia, and so on. It's probably the same name as Marian and Miriam.

My husband's named asteroid (in German) conjuncts my sun. We have a German surname, so it's not so far-fetched. Asteroid Hillary conjuncts Bill Clinton's moon. I know someone whose ex-wife's namesake asteroid conjuncts his Pluto at the tip of a yod formation. Again, I normally would just use an asteroid-planet conjunction.
