Aspects that run in the family

Hello all, I'm sure if I looked hard enough I'd find this topic somewhere on the forum but whatever.

Do you notice any patterns that you and your family share in your astrological charts? Personally, all my brothers and I have stelliums in our charts. From oldest to youngest: 5 in Sagittarius, 4 in Capricorn, 4 in Aries, 5 (possibly 6) in Taurus and 4 in Gemini... it's pretty neat.

What aspects run in your family?

Both my mother and sister have Saturn sitting in Pisces at 14 degrees. (I think that's pretty odd.) Though, they are positioned in different houses. My mother's is in her 4th and my sister's is in her 5th.

Also my brother, sister, and I have Mars on a certain midpoint (Jupiter/Neptune).

There's a lot of difficult moon/Pluto placements in my chart and also my mother's and grandmother's charts. Then when you check the synastries and composites between mothers and daughters, you see the same thing.

That is cool stelliums run in your family's chart! My sister, brother, and mom have stelliums in their charts, but my dad and I don't. My mom and sister are both Taurus Suns. I have a Taurus Rising. My dad and I are both Libra Suns.

I also share certain aspects with every member of my family. And for example my mom and sister have Venus in Aries and my dad and brother have Venus in Scorpio. So Astrology definitely shows same aspects and signs throughout the family which is really interesting.

I also found similarities with my cousins, and aunts charts. For example me, my very close cousin and my aunt all have Leo moons. My aunt and brother and sister also have similar aspects and the same planets in the same houses. It is all really interesting.

Hi, I just saw this interesting thread, so I would like to contribute too, with what I have available as data.

I should start with my parents and myself. They don't know their birth times, so I look only at planets.

My father and I

-His Sun is in Aquarius and so is mine.
-His Moon is in Capricorn and my IC cusp is also in Capricorn.
-His Mercury is in Aquarius and so is mine.
-His Mars and his Saturn are in Pisces and so is my Venus(ruler of my ascendant).

My mother and I

-Her Sun and Mercury are in Cancer and so is my MC.
-Her Jupiter is in Capricorn as is my IC.

My brother and my father

-His Mars is in Aquarius as are my father's Sun and Mercury.

My brother and my mother

-His Sun and Venus are in Cancer as are my mother's Sun and Mercury.
-His Mercury is in Leo as is my mother's Venus.
-His Saturn is in Gemini as are my mother's Moon and Mars.(The conjunction of Saturn and Moon is absolutely exact as well!)

(We have always been 2 by 2 in this house, me and dad, my brother and mum.
With this thread, you have given me the opportunity to understand why! Thank you!)

Let's go on, though! Me and my daughter

-My Sun and Mercury are in Aquarius as is my daughter's Moon.
-Both our Marses are in Scorpio.
-Her IC is in Pisces as is my Venus.
(The cusp of my 5th is in Aquarius as is her Moon but I'm not sure that that helps you)

My husband and my daughter

-His Sun is in Saggitarius as is her Ascendant (and in close conjunction too).
-His Moon and Mercury are in Scorpio as is her Mars.
-His Jupiter is in Virgo as are her Sun and MC.

I don't have my husband's birth time either, so I don't know his angles.

I hope all this is useful to you! It sure was to me to write it out, a lot of things make sense now.
DNA shows in charts, that's for sure!

I could practically feel the enthusiasm coming off your post. :)

Another one that I noticed was that over the years my grandmother's house attracts scorpio moons. Her two younger sons have it and two men who she provides housing for has it. My uncle's ex-gf who still stays there from time to time has it.

I think this happens because the astro pattern is a living thing within your energy field. During your life, it will magnetise towards you people carrying the same or very similar archetype, so that it can "join forces" on the invisible level and become stronger, often to the point that the pattern becomes blatantly obvious to you, first in the other person and then recognised in you.

And of course after you die, the pattern absolutely doesn't want to die with you. It wants to survive and the way it does that is by being transmitted to your descendants. You pass on this 'software' to them as you bring them up.

The chart is a kind of user's manual, showing what software is going to be inserted in us by our parents and early environment.

If you can identify your worst patterns, you can try to stop doing them. The first thing that the ego then does is seek out somebody with the same pattern, to try and get it up and running in you again. Being really 'mindful' and observational, you can see when this is happening and you can elevate yourself above it and not play into the scripts.

Another example
e.g.

(1) Your Moon is the same sign as one or more of your father/mother's Sun, Moon, ASC/DESC/MC/IC/Mercury/Venus/Mars/Jupiter or Saturn

My mother is a Capricorn sun, moon, and Saturn. I am a Capricorn moon. Her Saturn is conjunct my moon.
Not comfortable at all, for either of us.

My middle brother is a Cancer sun; my mother is a Cancer ascendant and my father was a Cancer moon.
In my own family, both of my children are Virgo moons and I am a Virgo sun.

In my husband's family, he is a Pisces moon and his mother and our daughter are both Pisces suns.
My FIL's Pisces Saturn also sits on my husband's moon.

(2) Your Sun is the same sign as one or more of your father/mother's Sun, Moon ASC/DESC/MC/IC/
Mercury/Venus/Mars/Jupiter/Saturn

Mine isn't, but my husband and son are both Aries suns.
My father was born August 23,
but by birth time and location was a Leo (August 23 is one of the most tricksy birthdays astrologically, it seems).
He had Venus and Mercury conjunct in Virgo.
I am a Virgo sun, born August 27, and have Venus and Merc in loose conjunction in Leo.
I always thought that was interesting.

My oldest brother is a Virgo moon.

(3) Your Ascendant is the same sign as one or more of your father/mother's Sun, Moon ASC/DESC/MC/IC
/Mercury/Venus/Mars/Jupiter/Saturn

Hahahaha, yes.
My dad and I were both Leo rising.
My son is also Leo rising. They are all placed no more than two degrees apart from each other.
(I laughed because my son was a preemie
and my mother had everything but the time keyed in to the computer when the date was determined
-- I had severe preeclampsia and he was delivered by emergency c-section.

When she did the chart and told me he was a 10 deg. Leo rising to my eight, I cracked up, and that laughter was much appreciated!)

Basically - is one of more of your ASC/DESC/IC/MC/Moon/Sun/Mercury/Venus/Mars/Jupiter/Saturn the same sign as one or more of your father/mother's ASC/DESC/MC/IC/Mercury/Venus/Mars/Jupiter/Saturn signs?

Just a tad, especially with me.
My two older brothers brought completely different signs to the astrological gene pool.
I am the most tied, astrologically, to our parents -- and, paradoxically, was always the most rebellious.
One interesting thing about the three of us, at least to me: my eldest brother has no water in his chart.
My middle brother has no earth.
I have no air.
I wonder if Mom and Dad had had a fourth, s/he would have had no fire?
We all have Venus and Mercury conjunct -- in different signs,
but nonetheless we share that aspect with our father, who also had it.
(An interesting tidbit: I am 13 and 11 years younger than my brothers.)

... and after I read through this I got the impression that JUPITERASC is interested in gathering info about this subject,
so I have more to add regarding my kids, in-laws, nieces and nephews (I promise not to write War and Peace, lol).

Taurus:
My oldest brother, by all appearances, introduced Taurus to our DNA.
It does not exist in either of our parents' charts nor, as far as I can tell, does it go farther back
(but one starts to run into difficulties with birth time and such then, so it's hard to tell).
My bro is a Taurus sun/ascendant.
There are six bio. grandchildren (two more adopted) on my side of the family.
One nephew and my daughter are both Taurus rising (and they're 19 years apart; he's the oldest grandchild, she's the youngest).
A niece (who is also my godchild) has her moon in Taurus.
My son has Venus and Mercury conjunct in Taurus.

Scorpio:

My kids' generation brought Scorpio to the family.
Two of my nieces are Scorpio suns
(in fact, the one with the Taurus moon is also a Scorp sun, and they oppose each other).
My daughter has Mars in Scorpio (and can you ever tell; that is NOT a criticism).
All three girls, despite having three different sets of parents and quite an age spread, are very much alike temperamentally.
The eldest niece also picked up that Capricorn moon from my mother.

Aquarius: My middle brother is an Aquarius moon. My nephew -- son of my other brother -- is an Aquarius sun AND moon.

We're a Fixed lot, aren't we?

My husband's side:

MIL, Pisces sun/Sag moon. (I don't know her birth time, so I have to do a 12 noon chart for her.
I don't dare ask; it wouldn't be prudent.)
Her own mother was also a Pisces sun; one of my husband's cousins shares his grandmother's birthday.
My MIL has Venus in Aries, as do my husband and daughter.
She also shares a Saturn in Aries placement with my son and a Jupiter in Aries placement with my daughter.
Hmm. Three of her six grandchildren are Pisces suns (my daughter, one niece, and one nephew).
Two are Aries suns (my son and another nephew).
No Sag there that I know of, but again I can't ask that side of the family what their birth times are and why I want them.

FIL, Scorpio sun/Capricorn moon. One Scorpio granddaughter.
His Pisces Saturn sits on my husband's moon.
He has absolutely nothing in common with either of my children astrologically,
unless his unknown ascendant would change that.
He and I have a lot of conjunctions and/or oppositions (including Saturn), which I find interesting since I married into the family.

Again here, my husband is the youngest and the one with the strongest astrological ties (in his case, to his mother).
His sister is a Cancer sun and his brother's an Aquarius sun;
I don't know the rest of their astrology but I know there's a pattern of detachment in that family and I wonder if I did everyone's chart
(even with a 12 noon) if I'd find Venus in Aries or a lot of Sag moons.
Since it's supposed to rain all day I know what I'll likely be doing if I get bored.

In my family (mom, sister and aunts uncles ect) several things are common.

Most of us have earth Mars. Sister and aunt/uncle have Taurus. Mom and grandma have Virgo, I have Capricorn. My other aunt and her husband have Aries and my grandpa had leo.

Almost everyone has oppositions to each other and married /produced a venus /Mars combo.

Grandpa was Aries and grandma is a libra. They had two Aries children and a Taurus and libra. One Aries child married a Taurus and they had a libra baby, one libra moon baby and one Scorpio moon baby. My libra mom had a Scorpio baby and Aries baby. My father had moon in libra. I married a Taurus but unfortunately my baby doesn't fit the trend! Oh well

Also most of us have either aqua moon or leo.

And most have a hard aspect between the moon and either Saturn or pluto with me being the lucky one with both.

My Mom has Moon opposition Pluto, I have Moon contra-parallel Pluto.
The odd thing is that my parents have Mars in Earth signs, different to each other, yet I ended up with Mars in Capricorn.
My Mom has Saturn-Mercury aspect, I have a strong Saturn-Mercury aspect too.
My Mom is a Sag ASC. I am too. Overall, I inherited my Mom's personality.

Yods, stelliums and intercepted signs run in my family.

I have stelliums in Virgo/7th House and Capricorn, Virgo and Pisces are intercepted in my 7th and 1st house, and two yods (Uranus apex/Moon/Jupiter and Uranus apex/Mars/Jupiter).

My dad has stelliums in his Aries and Pisces. Aries and Libra are intercepted in his 7th and 1st house. He has a yod - Pluto apex/Saturn/Mercury. Pluto is in Virgo/6th house and makes close contacts with my Virgo stellium.

Mom has no stelliums to speak of, but she does have Aries and Libra also intercepted in her 10th and 4th house (I'm a 4th House moon so that is kinda cool). She also has a yod - Pluto is apex again, in Virgo/3rd house in the exact same degree as my Mercury in Virgo. Again, makes close contact with my Virgo stellium. Branches of her yod are Moon and Saturn.

My sibling has two stelliums as well.

I have noticed too that my mom's planets and my dad's to some degree kinda explain the energy dynamic in our family. Like, my mom has Mercury in Aquarius. I am an Aquarius rising and my brother has a stellium in Aquarius. My mother has Venus in Scorpio and my brother is a Scorpio Moon. She is a Cap Sun/Aries Moon/Cancer rising. I have a stellium in Capricorn and I'm a 4th house moon. Both me and my brother have tight Moon-Mars conjunctions, likening us to an Aries Moon at times (our dad is also an Aries, so we get it from both sides). My dad has a stellium in Pisces and my brother has a 12th house stellium. Also, my parent's yods pointing to Pluto in the 3rd house and 6th house kind of explain me: I'm a triple Virgo and double Gemini. Lots of mercury energy indeed.

Let's see:

My brother & I both have Sun square Pluto as well as a sextile between the Moon & Uranus. He also has a conjunction between his Moon & Jupiter. I have an opposition between my Moon & Jupiter.
I have Venus square Pluto & my sister has Venus in Scorpio.
I have, if you count dissociate aspects, Jupiter (29th degree) opposite Pluto, while my sister has Jupiter conjunct Pluto. My brother has Jupiter square Pluto.

My sister has Mercury conjunct Pluto & her daughter has Mercury in Scorpio.
I have Saturn sitting almost dead on the IC in my 4th house, making a very tight square to my Ascendant. My niece (sister's daughter) has Pluto sitting almost dead on the IC in her 4th house, making a very tight square to her Ascendant.

Finally, my brother has a Libra ascendant & my sister has a Libra Sun.

That's all I can think of at the moment. There are definitely more.

EDITED to add a few more.

Myself and half my kids (3 of 6) have Venus in the 12th house.
Me under cancer
My eldest (girl) under Gemini
My 3rd (girl) & 4th (boy) under Scorpio.

I suspect since parents effect how you are raised, it therefore will be seen in your charts. How you view that trait will then have an effect also (seen in my kids being under very different signs then mine. Makes perfect sense.

My 2nd doesn't have this for complicated reasons having to do with his ASD.

My younger 2 don't which is a positive note for me as it tells me that me taking charge of my Venus (currently) will turn out well and not effect them. In general they have healthier looking 5,7 & 8 houses. So I agree with sweet pea saying we can take charge. In fact I think that's the point if astrology. I don't believe our natal charts are fatalistic tales of our lives to be. I think they are guides to direct us. What we do with that guide is up to us.

I feel that once the parent passes on , his or her spirit power will be transferred on to the children..if they dont have children, then to the person showing closest affinity to their chart. So the children will have some planet ' receptacle' to accept this energy. In my case, my mum had strong Scorp and Aquarius placements and i had my Rahu in Scorpio and Jupiter in Aquarius. I sometimes feel that she guides me through my scorp placement.

My parents and I have mars in cancer, almost all 9 degrees apart from each other (9,18,26). They don't know their birth times and there's no other correlations that we all share.

Some more patterns I spotted -

Three of the older (living) brothers were born during important "traditional" mundane conjunctions. I was born on a Mars-Jupiter(lesser)in Sag,The Next was born on a Mars-Saturn (middle) in Aries, and the next was born on a Saturn-Jupiter(Great) in Taurus. We all have our suns in the respective signs.

Also 4 of us all have the ruler of the 3rd house (brothers, other kin) dignified and in charge of stelliums. No wonder we get along so well.
