Another dream

I had this dream yesterday morning, and it was one of those very vivid dreams, so I suspect I am having to take notice of it.

I was witnessing a woman giving birth. She was an older woman, and much older than her partner. There were a lot of people watching, but no-one was `up her end' supporting her. I watched closely as the child's head crowned, then it burst from her body and slowly opened its eyes and looked around. There was silence as everyone in the room saw that what had been born was just the head of the baby, and the body was still inside the mother. The baby's neck had signs of trauma where the head had broken from the body. No-one knew what to do. No-one wanted to tell her that her baby was not likely to live.

Feedback appreciated.
I have some ideas, but it's always useful to hear what others see in it.

Hallo Raven.

Sometimes I have seen that dreams may function as time indicators. I feel that this may be such a dream.

In that case, you may want to monitor closely the dates around 8-9 June, when Mercury (children) will transit over Caput Algol (decapitation).

You may witness then an act of emancipation, or participate to the outset of something, or live a scene causing a feeling of helplessness or distress, or simply be disturbed by/forced into an awkward silence.

Just a thought from my side.

R4VEN,

I'm inclined to recall the "Hanged Man," a tarot card.

In short, much like what Vinyasa said:

  • LETTING GO
  • REVERSAL
  • SUSPENSION
  • SACRIFICE

From the website: http://www.learntarot.com/maj12.htm (my additions in brackets)

The Hanged Man is one of the most mysterious cards in the tarot deck. It is simple, but complex. It attracts, but also disturbs. [Strange birth of this baby] It contradicts itself in countless ways. The Hanged Man is unsettling because it symbolizes the action of paradox in our lives. [Baby still alive but in a physical position that would cause death] The Hanged Man presents to us certain truths, but they are hidden in their opposites. [Sacrifice as a way towards being Whole]

The main lesson of the Hanged Man is that we "control" by letting go - we "win" by surrendering. The figure on Card 12 has made the ultimate surrender - to die on the cross of his own travails - yet he shines with the glory of divine understanding. He has sacrificed himself, but he emerges the victor. The Hanged Man also tells us that we can "move forward" by standing still. [The Baby merely blinked, did not wail, did not gush blood]
By suspending time, [As the Baby did] we can have all the time in the world.

In readings, the Hanged Man reminds us that the best approach to a problem is not always the most obvious. When we most want to force our will on someone, that is when we should release.

When we most want to have our own way, that is when we should sacrifice. When we most want to act, that is when we should wait. [Simply blink and observe.] The irony is that by making these contradictory moves, we find what we are looking for. [Despite being "Dead" the Baby was alive, and was simply viewing.]

I suppose now I'd ask you what you think this represents, are you looking for something?

Thank you all so much for your input.

At first - i.e. immediately I awoke from the dream - I was inclined to look at it the way EJ did. That is, only the idea/intellect/ mental stuff had been birthed. In a way, I believe this is also so, but there is much more to it that I have not yet experienced fully..

However, both Vinyasa and Mod took me further into the `issue' (which I am not at this stage prepared to share publically, as is too too weird!!) and showed me aspects of this which I had not previously considered.

Vinyasa I have already marked those dates in June in my diary!! The Mercury factor is quite strong in the dream, given that the `father' of the half-born child is a well-known radio jock in Australia, and works with another 20-something young guy. They are like the `twins of the air-waves.'

And Mod, thank you for the heads-up re the Hanged Man card. I can certainly relate to that in the `issue' itself.

Have been shown again & again how the above approach is the best one, but do you think I can manage it yet? Gotta have my say, don't I?

Thanks again to you all.

PS: Just thought I'd mention - given Vinyasa's reference to Caput Algol - that Algol closely conjuncts my natal Pallas Athene, something I have had difficulty in `getting going' in my life. It's all falling into place, I think.

PS#2: Two words mentioned by each of Vinyasa and Mod have been significant of late: `sacrifice' (Hanged Man, mentioned by Mod) seems to have been within and around me all my life, and `emancipation' (mentioned by Vinyasa) is something I am aware of seeking. Just thought I'd add that as feedback.
