Is there a modern school of clinical psychology which respects astrology, and uses it in its practice?
Is there a modern school of clinical psychology which respects astrology, and uses it in its practice?
No, there isn't (thankfully).
Why thankfully?
Because I personally find most astrology not very useful, and mostly useless in a clinical context.
Are you a clinical psychologist?
What's your opinion concerning Operant Conditioning theory?
What's your opinion concerning Operant Conditioning theory?
It's a working theory with laws behind it. We need more of it in our society and workplace.
Took Psychology 1A in college. We played Behavioral mind games with lab rats, mostly. The "enabler" concept loomed large for me. But, how can you affect that, when the client is the one being enabled?
What has behaviorism have to do with the utility of astrology in clinical context though?
Modern tropical astrology is concerned with behavioral tendencies. But, you can't use it yourself, so it's of no use in your practice. Understood!
CoolStory, one could appreciate an example. Traditional astrology also has always been concerned with character.
Well, the usual Modern is to blame Neptune and H12 for addiction problems. I would say it's more about Saturn's influence. Problem of course, is that you can find some example Charts that support a theory, in both Mod and Trad, and others that don't.
Even if astrology could help you diagnose someone with depression, how can it help you treat it? How about we leave each field to the specialists, prediction to the mathematician, cure to the physician.
No prediction accorded to Traditional?
Sorry, I don't understand what you mean.
