That is an interesting quote from Alice Bailey:"The names of the planets are not the result of arbitrary choice, but the planets name themselves." Whereas, we can actually know the name of the person who named new celestial objects such as the Exoplanets, the same cannot be said of the unkown...
What's in a name? In astrology there is a lot of significance found in the name of celesial objects and this includes Exoplanets.
Most of the Exoplanets discovered so far are systematically named after their host star. For example, HD 38677b where HD38677 signifies the host star and b, c, d etc...
