All I did was tuck the word homosexuality in amongst a half dozen other words
And the thread went bonkers.
Here's what I said, "It might mean a narcissistic personality, extreme vanity, homosexuality, hedonism, prostitution or a host of other things "good" and "bad", depending on its conditioning and role in the whole chart."
True, I stuck homosexuality in with other terms of a basically negative connotation. But look at the attitude of a very large segment of the general population toward homosexuality. Queers are beaten up, even killed. People of certain religious persuasions speak of homosexuals as if they were worse than murderers. Parents disown homosexual children. Gays are ridiculed. Discrimination against them is widespread in employment and housing, even in the churches...they are excluded. Gay people often can't adopt children, leaving the children without loving parents. Is it any wonder that so many gays live in the closet?
This is not to mention the severe inner confusion that many gay people must live with and through...the face they see in the mirror is "not normal." In the early years of the AIDS epidemic it was the gay community that suffered most; their lives were destroyed, their bodies ravaged.
Seems to me I am being attacked for something I never said and never implied: a "moral judgment" against homosexuals. I have a hunch that much of this criticism comes from people who are homosexual and are projecting their hyper-sensitive defensiveness on me.
I drove cab for years and years in cities all across the US. I've hauled many a homosexual. I have never met one... not a single one... who did not believe that "he/she was born that way." (If there are any gay people here who believe they chose to be gay, I'd sure like to hear from you.)
To say there is no gene for homosexuality...that may or may not be correct. But recent research seems to have detected some differences in brain function among homosexuals. That homosexuals unanimously believe they were born that way seems to imply some inborn difference from the bulk of the population.
I know from long experience that homosexuality can be seen in a horoscope. I have said many times in this forum that a person's sexual inclinations, whether homosexual or straight (whatever that might be) are to be seen in the natal chart...as are all life-influencing personality traits. Homosexuality is no different from greed, aggression, empathy, nurture, psychopathy, accident proneness, altruism or any other human characteristic astrologically. These traits are what make us who we are and they can be seen in the horoscope.
To return to the original intended point: Venus on the Ascendant can express either positive or negative traits. Venus can as easily impart ugliness as beauty.
