Being on an ultra long-haul flight back in May this year, I was extremely fortunate to have a person of an awe-inspiring courtesy and vivacity in the passenger’s seat next to mine (male Scorpio in his thirties, which is around my age). We bonded instantly, at the very first sight, just to realize the serendipitous moment of being actually seat-mates a bit later. Yet, due to a mischance merged with the stress over our connecting flights, we didn't manage to exchange any contact info, even though we both felt empowered by the powerful feelings which surfaced during our flight, which left us both with the lost soul-mate feeling. Could this be the Saturnine lesson, or was it really a karmic bonding? Or maybe it was Pluto in Capricorn again? Can serendipitous meetings of this type be predicted by the means of astrology, or even further - whether they will lead to a new re-connection?

And also, what is the possibility for us to meet - both back in May and possibly in the future, having in mind the fact that we both come from different European countries, but we met while leaving Australia (where he resides currently), on a different continent, different side of the world?

Anyways, long story short:
We never would have met had it not been for serendipitous events.
Looking at our charts, natal, prog, solar return* *was a key factor, I think, in determining serendipity*, synastry and composite/prog. composite.
A (planet or hypothetical point) in a chart for gauging fateful encounters, soul mates, etc.. is the vertex . There is research already done on the subject that you can find.
My partners' SR vertex was exactly conjunct my natal sun. To the degree and w/in 20" min exactitude.
