If a Natal Rx Jupiter's effects are internal, does that mean the native will miss out on experiencing the external energies? The energies and effects you would feel in a direct motion. Thats a bit worrying. Everyone wants to experience Jupiter at its best and fullest, not backward or repressed and certainly this is not the planet you want to experience on an internal level.

If someone had Rx Jupiter and another had direct Jupiter, on a scale of 1-10, how different would their lives be. 10 being very different.

I have jupiter rx in cancer in 9th, it was not until my first saturn return that I really came to fully appreciate it externally. ie it really kicked of a series of long distant travelling adventures. I also had some travel when I had my second jupiter return at 24 of travel. I have saturn trine jupiter natally. it was a jupiter trine jupiter that also kicked off me really living out what had once been only daydreams - ie more spiritual types journey's travel to mountainess regions and a move to a more spiritual way of life. So I had some awareness when younger but did not know how to access this it seem like fantasy and I was bought up in an enviroment that was quite negative. By these travel experiences these have really 'coloured my life' in a very positive way.

so the benefits of rx may take time to be realised externally until perhaps activated by transit. (also depends on natal aspects and house etc) ie a jupiter rx in 12th house may take much longer to realise its potential as it is more hidden but it is still there.

Lol I have the Rx Jupiter in the 12th. It doesn't go direct until mid-late 30's. Thats a little too late not because you stop living once you hit 30 but I think it would express itself greatly when you're young. I'm trying to consider any other aspects that may "help" this effect. I have Natal Venus trine Jupiter but ugh its still irritating.

jupiter may not always be positive - sometimes it is toooo much. ie accidents if there are squares etc.
jupiter in 12th the focus is on the collective and the unconscious, all that is hidden and secret, mysteries and spiritual world. (instituitions etc)
so you will have to work out how to access it .
trine to venus is nice! so be happy!
I always felt an inner strength as a kid - a contentment. so that could have been partly the jupiter expression. I had a 'vivid imagination' often written on school reports.

Much depends on how your jupiter is aspected natally, what house it's in shows where it will express and the signs shows how it will be modified.

I have virgo retro in fall in 8th house, well aspected. It tends to feel more 'inner confidence' and expression, more contented, perhaps a little less sociable.

just noticed you said jupiter was in 12th, which suggests a place of guardian angels and protection.

I often wondered about retrograde Jupiter. From what I understand, the person feels more internally rich and may not give much credence to external substances. I have Jupiter stationary direct so at the moment of my birth, Jupiter was just getting his kick start in going direct at 0 Libra. According to astro.com, my Jupiter is considered direct.

It's hard to rate experiences on a numeric scale based solely upon trying to tap energies from 1 planet. Even though my Jupiter is considered direct, it conjuncts Saturn. Jupiter bonify Saturn, and Saturn malify Jupiter. It's a strange conjunction that happens once every 20 years or so. As far as me experiencing "more" external richness than a person with Jupiter Rx... that's not something that can be measured. To be honest, I've always thought I didn't do much at all. But looking back on the past 10 years of my life, I realized, I did a lot- especially moved cross country!

I would tell you to not worry about having Jupiter Rx or get frustrated about it. You're born with what you're born with. Use it as it's your map to guide you in this lifetime. Look to see what house your Jupiter sits in (12th), see what aspects he makes to other planets and that should help you get a better grasp Jupiter overall. Do not, I repeat, do NOT freak out because you think you have to wait until you're in your late 30s to "experience" Jupiter direct. You don't have to wait for anything, or anyone, unless you actually want to. Just because we're born with the star map we're given, it doesn't take away free will and choices. You'll always have the power to choose. Stop expanding on worring so much (12 house troubles).

And Caro is right- Jupiter can be too much and get carried away so it's not always "good." Jupiter "expands" whatever house he's in. If Saturn or Pluto doesn't come in to do damage control, his house party can make the whole house go boom and there won't be anyone left to clean up.
