Antiscion - Astrology Encyclopedia

Definition of Antiscion As modernly used in the so-called Uranian Astrology, it is the reflex position of a planet's birth position, in that degree on the opposite side of the Cancer-Capricorn axis, of which either 0 Cancer or 0 Capricorn is the midpoint. For example, the antiscion of a planet at 14 Capricorn is at 16 Sagittarius, which point becomes effective when occupied by another planet, or one in transit or by direction. As first used by Ptolemy the term is applied to two planets which have the same declination on the same side of the equator. One in the same declination on the opposite side was termed a contra antiscion. v. Parallel.
