Do you write? I think you would be good at it.

Re: Job for artistic nature

Hi! I used to write but it's been years that I haven't. I believe that I lost the talent! Is any other skill that you can see from my chart?
Thanks!

Re: Job for artistic nature

I think a lot of prospective writers get discouraged when they are young and inexperienced by critical teachers/readers. You might start up again, with the stamina that you have gained through more maturity and life experience. Maybe take a writing course at a local university. If you can't attend classes, many colleges/universities offer courses through "distance education" on-line. Or see if there are local writing groups to get you started.

If you need something to pay the bills, maybe think about public relations for a large organization, technical writing, or work for a broadcasting company. Mercury, who rules thought and communication is just so strong in your chart! Maybe even teaching.

Re: Job for artistic nature

I know this is not really connected, but maybe it is. Your moon is square your sun, I have this placement myself. Your family may not have been supportive of you when you were younger. The mother and father or those figures that played the role in your life were at odds. There may have been fighting and you may have been or felt like you were in the middle. One of your family members may not have even been in your life.
Okay so the problem is that you want to integrate what you want in life, vs what you actually need. And your moon is in the second house, so material objects, maybe money can be something you drive for to give you a sense of security. A big goal with this placement is to find something that your family will be proud of, to make them notice you.
I may be off but I just saw that and wanted to share this with you.
However I digress
I see that your tenth house is shining with your sun! This can indicate that you will shine or do well in whatever career you choose. I see that the 10th house cusp is gemini leading into cancer. So taking cancer type careers, like feeding, nurturing and caring for others may be something you would be good at.
I see that you are going through you saturn return. Saturn in Virgo in the 12th house. This indicates that too you want to help others in the area of responsibility. Education, social work, hospital work- nursing maybe?
Then you have the darn saturn return. This can make you feel insecure, not to mention that your growing up years probably added to this insecurity.

Saturn

<FONT face=Arial color=#000080 size=2>With Saturn in the 12th House a person tends to be haunted by the spectre of existentialism, the fear that existence is random and meaningless. Yet this placement is found in the charts of some of the most renowned spiritual luminaries. In H12, as in any other, Saturn rewards effort. People with this placement who strive to find a meaning for existence<SPAN lang=EN-US style="mso-ansi-language: EN-US"> may come to great truths.

Re: Job for artistic nature

Thanks for the replies. I'm glad to know that I have some skills in writing but I lack confidence and strong will. I suppose that this is due to the square of mars and saturn. Aswell I have some other bad aspects in my chart that makes me fail whenever I try to pursue a dream or a goal. Is it anyway that I could do that make me overcome that imbalance of bad aspects?
Once more thanks!

Re: Job for artistic nature

while it is true that this Mars Saturn square can be a confidence downer, still your Saturn is quite strong, being in 12th, and sextile your Sun. It also conjucts your north node, to me it says you path in this life can be attained only thru hard work... Having the NN in 12th can be confusing regarding life goals and purpose(I have it there too), or getting there slower with Saturn there...
This strong will you say you are lacking is very familiar to me, but the only way I found to make it stronger is to strenghten your Sun energies. Sun in 10th is quite strong, yet in a bit mellow sign of Cancer, but I think this Cancer is what makes you artistic.
I'd also like to comment on the Mars, representing the energy and the way you approach whatever you work on - Gemini, mutable, not so very good for finishing long term projects, changeable, overall not a good position for Mars, it gives a change of goals, restlessness, scattered mind, and arts are generally a life long preservance in search for perfection(being an artist myself, I am just saying my way of seeing this) This Mars here also gives a strong intelect, so I think if you are into writing maybe try short stories, quick notes, poems, this way of capturing thoughts and moments will later give you enough material to see where you are heading, to recognize the style that is you, and slowly try to work on expanding...

Any art, or anything you want to do for that matter, requires serious approach and a lot of work. Discipline. If you are aware you have talent, you still need to invest a lot of energy for it to grow... Set yourself tasks, even if it's not something that goes with the 'artistic' natures. It is necessary. Once you may be well over that point, but in the beginings, you can't do without.

I can only imagine Mars Saturn being a very difficult to overcome. Yes, it is true you have several bad aspects, but you also have a few very good ones. So focus on those that are good and exercise your will! If you want something, simply do it. And confidence will come once you become aware of your efforts and improvement

Re: Job for artistic nature

luneblanche, there are not too many "easy" charts on planet earth. Most people's charts are a mix of smooth-flowing and "difficult" aspects. I once read a post by someone who had looked at the relationship between people's charts and their careers, and he claimed that squares were the best indicator of job focus, because the squares challenged people not to take it easy and to keep trying to improve. [i.e., ambition] It is up to each person to decide what to make of their charts and their lives. Astrology can turn into a self-fulfilling prophecy if you say, "Well, I have all these bad aspects in my chart and that is why my life isn't working out." Astrology can also turn into a self-fulfilling prophecy if you say, "My chart is challenging me to live my dreams."

I have a Mars-Saturn opposition, and I am glad now that I settled into my career before I studied astrology, or I might have thought I couldn't do it.

You have many wonderful stellar gifts, luneblanche!

Re: Job for artistic nature

Communicating the history of art, as a teacher would be my bet.
Venus conj. MC, though ruled by Mercurius on the 11th itself conjunct Jupiter, with Sun in the 10th in history-buff Cancer it's a dead-cert in my view. You have a real need to soak up the good-opinions of the collective, so I would say that it isn't something that you can do closeted away like a writer, but a communicator, yes.

So, hope that logic was clear, get thee to college and become an art-history professor or something, Mars Gemini 9th means you have the mental energy for it too

Re: Job for artistic nature

Saturn/NN in 12H squaring Neptune makes me some confused about chosing my path. I feel that I should become an artist and do something that allows me to be free and without restrictions but feelings sometimes are quite different from reality and maybe I don't have the skills. At least I know that I don't have the will to finish projects that I started specially because of fears of inadequacy and the lack of hope that things will turn ok.
I'm not sure that I would be able to be a teacher because I'm very shy and even though I have Mercury conjunction Jupiter in 11H I'm not very good people. Probably that comes aswell from my Neptune squaring my Venus.
Maybe some kind of profession that is a little backstage but I don't feel that I'm good with people. Aswell I don't feel confortable being looked at because I know that eventually I'm going to fail or doing something stupid.
Pobably even that I found a path my bad aspects (Mars square Saturn) makes it hard to follow it.
Thanks!
Luna

Re: Job for artistic nature

Luneblanche, probably I am reading too much into the wording of your messages, but I seem to pick up a deterministic view towards astrology and yourself when you say, "Saturn...makes me some confused about choosing my career path;" or "my bad aspects...makes it hard to follow it," and other comments like these.

This is certainly one way to understand astrology, but you might consider more helpful and empowering "schools of thought" about astrology that are available to you. One is called "choice-centered astrology," which suggests that your chart gives a set of potentials and challenges, but that it is always up to you to determine how you will approach them. The main difficulty that I see with a limiting, deterministic view towards astrology is that it can become a self-fulfilling prophecy. Another difficulty is that astrologizers can describe themselves so frequently through their charts that they lose their real-life sponteneity. If you had never studied astrology, how would you understand your strengths and limits? What if you had far more potential than you imagined?

There is nothing wrong with working behind the scenes, however. But doesn't everybody "fail or do something stupid" at various times in their lives? The success stories are people who frequently fail and do stupid things. The difference is that they keep going, anyway.

Your present (and not necessarily permanent) fears may relate to your Mars square Saturn, though. Maybe you could begin a martial arts course like karate! That could be a great way to boost your self-confidence in a way that uses both your Saturnine discipline and Mars nature.

Good luck to you!

A trait which you share with the rest of us/humanity, Luneblanche. The solution is to "feel the fear and do it anyway".

(And I'd copy for future reference the excellent guidance you've been given by the other contributors to this thread.)

Re: Job for artistic nature

Indeed I can see that my wording is kind for negative one. It's just with the years I've got so wrapped in pessimist and fearful patterns that even talking or writing I show easily the way that I feel. I hope that someday I get the strenght to break this way of thinking. Your posts has help' me a lot with that. Thank you!
