Hi Danjoe and welcome, although I think we may have already posted to each other.

Of course, this is a good place to learn and share views and experiences.

An astrological golden rule: 'The stars impel, they do not compel'. In other words they incline but do not necessitate.

Well, I'm sure if the Sun was to blow up it would certainly effect humanity!

It is interesting to speculate what the effect would be upon us when new stars are born and old stars die.

The stars do move, due to the precession of the equinoxes. The fixed star Vindemiatrix, for example is in the physical constellation of Virgo, but now lies in the tropical sign of Libra. So the basic meaning of Vindemiatrix would remain the same as ever, but it now has more of a Libra quality than it did in ancient times.

I am suprised no-one else has dropped in to say hello. :|

I'm a beginner, too. I'm always asking questions, so don't worry about it.

I don't remember all the details, but didn't a woman sue the government for blowing up an asteroid or something? Said it altered her birthchart and thus changed her potential? Or something like that.

Anybody remember the details?

Take care

Hel,
Hi.

Just did a search on this subject and this is what I found. Quoted from link:

Quote:
Astrologer to sue NASA over comet plans

A Russian court has ruled that an astrologer can proceed with a lawsuit against the US National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) for its plans to bombard a comet.

The astrologer claims the destruction of the comet would "disrupt the natural balance of the universe."

Marina Bai's case was thrown out of a lower court because Russia has no jurisdiction over NASA, but the ruling was overturned when her lawyer, Alexandra Molokhova, was able to show that the agency's office in the US Embassy in Moscow does fall under Russian jurisdiction.

Ms Bai seeks a ruling that will restrict NASA in its plans to annihilate a section of the Tempel 1 comet, in a project that has been dubbed Deep Impact, as well as punitive damages of $US300 million.

"My client believes that the NASA project infringes upon her spiritual and life values as well as the natural life of the cosmos and would disrupt the natural balance of forces in the universe," her lawyer said.

The lawyer says Tempel 1 has sentimental value to Ms Bai because her grandparents met when her grandfather pointed the comet out to his future wife.

In a $US279 million project, NASA in January launched the Deep Impact spacecraft.

It will travel to the comet and release an impactor - a 370-kilogram self-guided mass - on July 4, which is expected to create a crater that could be as large as a football stadium.

Scientists believe that the exposed material from the resulting crater will yield clues to the formation of the solar system and provide important information on altering the course of comets or asteroids on a collision course with earth.

Effects of the collision will be visible from earth with an amateur telescope. "
I wonder how this went for her? She has my 8th house Pluto's support. Seems we have a bit of a duty to disengage this star war ****. These NASA/Gov boys should check their pants and find some smaller toys to play with.  Grrrrrrr.

You go, Sita!

At first I thought that lawsuit was complete tripe, and perhaps it is, but I would have loved to see some big-time lawyers argue the validity of astrological influences

Hi all of you,

Hel,

You have got to be joking, right?

I could have sworn that this must be an American, until I read Sitas post and discovered she was Russian. No offence, but our American brothers and sisters do sue over the wildest and most inconceivable of things.

Tripe indeed. Very interesting however, yes, that lawyers would have to argue the validity of astro influences in court.

The astrological influence of some unheard of asteroid however would be nil, apart from the sentimental value to the womans grandparents, they can blow it up for all I care, as long as the blast doesn't send the orbit of the planets out of kilter, I couldn't care less, and even if it did, perhaps it was meant to be. :|

The whole thing is ridiculous, if the woman believes so much in the astrological influence of the chip of space rock, then why does she not consult transits to her natal and see that it was destined to be blown up anyway? Didn't see that one coming did she?

If a huge asteroid was hurtling toward Earth and threatening the extinction of all terrestrial life, then we would be more than happy for NASA to blow it up.

Asteroids just don't hold any astrological weight for me. If they were to blow up the Moon however, well, thats a different story entirely. The fact that NASA have walked all over the Moon to me, is tantamount to great sacrilage, the Moon to me is most sacred and holy, and I shudder to think that there are footprints all over it, not to mention a flag!!! I really do hope that the Moon landings were faked. How dare they defile something so sacred?

Anyway, thats my rant over, I'm off my soapbox now. :?
