I believe there is a ghost in my house, please help!!

The other day my daughter and my toothbrushes were missing, I always put them in the same exact place after use, I thought that was wierd. I never ever put them anywhere else but the toothbrush holder. Just today, I hung up a new roll of toilet paper(was excited that I had one left, thought I was out) and when I went to go to the bathroom the next time, it was gone. This is all within a week. I know it wasn't my daughter cause she was sleeping both times they were missing and my husband wasn't home. I'm a little freaked, what do I do to ease my nerves and get this to stop. I never had any hunches of having ghosts ever before.

Re: I believe there is a ghost in my house, please help!!

This seems like poltergeist activity, even though you do not mention any associated sounds or noises. Extensive and inconclusive research has been conducted into this phenomenon and Wikipedia will give you an indication of the physical and paranormal theories proposed to explain it. Much of this research has been incorporated into horror fiction/movies, so you may feel as if you are stepping into terrifyingly familiar territory.
Although I have had one encounter with a ghost, whose spirit was trapped in its earthly plane following an accident at work and who was released by a traditional (and very gentle) Christian exorcism, I have had no personal experience of the poltergeist phenomenon. I can only suggest that you try to remain as calm and dispassionate as possible in the face of any disturbing events so that this entity, whether real or psychological, is unable to gain energy from your fear. I hope other forum members may be able to offer more seasoned advice.

Best wishes.

Re: I believe there is a ghost in my house, please help!!

Does anyone in your house sleepwalk?
My uncle used to sleepwalk alot as a kid...he'd get up out of bed, walk arround the house, go to the bathroom, sit on the couch, walk up and down the stairs, go out the front door and stand in the yard........
My mom says they used to think he was awake, because he was so active, but then when they would go and talk to him, ask him what he was doing up, he would just mumble incoherently, and then if they shook him he would scream(laugh) get real startled and want to know how he got where he was at.....
pretty wild.....
Could be the reason for missing or moved stuff...
He would move stuff arround as well, and then know where his stuff was the next day, he'd get mad about it too, like, "who took my stuff" or whatever....kinda funny in this case........
I wouldn't count out ghosts though either.
As far as moving stuff arround, that's a pretty big ghost.
I know of a man who has a daughter, she does some of this stuff herself, accept it isn't under her controll, she moves stuff arround and then get's real scared about it.....thing's fall off the wall etc....books open up when she want's them too, but it's real spordiaidic, accidiental, like she has a thought, it happens, and if she tries again, can't do it.....she was pretty spooked at first not knowing if it was a ghost or her or some evil demon messing with her.....her parents were spooked as well but she is lucky to have the parents she does they have been great about it, don't look at her like she's an alien or whatever, I think she's getting used to it, haven't spoken with him for a while now.

If you are of a sound mind, you may be able to if you contact the entity in question, if that is what it is, then you may be able to ask it whi it is, and if one is percistant and ignores distracting answers, and get it's real name, it may cognate on what it is doing in your house, asking it what it divided from works as well....alot of times, so I hear, disincarnate entities, whether they be human or whatever, are often confused......stuck between planes....much like the confused people who are incarnated asking who they are as well.....odd really.....some want in, some want out.....anyway, getting it's answer and where it came from who it was, and then nudging towards the fact that there is a nursery near by might cause them to go and reincarante themselves if they are of the human variety.....it may even give you it's story...some are stuck in the moment of death and stay arround areas where they die...
That's all I really know about ghosts.

Just don't say Beetlejuice 3 times.(joking)

Re: I believe there is a ghost in my house, please help!!

So far it sounds pretty harmless, lol it must like the bathroom! I've had ghosts in my last 2 houses, the first one made himself very obvious, then when my daughter was born all she did was talk about him, he actually saved her life (strange but true)! When we moved I asked him to come with us but he I don't think he did, I don't feel him here. We have 1 maybe 2 in this house and a doggie ghost, they're all are pranksters but harmless, the one in my house now likes to move things and put them back (lol the toothpaste is a common one), he's turns on water, touches my head, likes to tug on my blankets and hide my cards, he's constantly trying to get my attention.
My advice is don't be afraid, it looks to me like it's just trying to get your attention, this could be someone you know! Is there someone close to you that's recently passed? First things first, acknowlege it, tell it you know it's there, somtimes that's enough. Then maybe tell it to stay away from your daughter because she'll be scared...you might want to somehow find out if she knows it's there, kids have a heightened awareness when it comes to spiritual activity, they even think it's normal. If you want it to leave just ask it too, if not tell it it can stay but only under your conditions. I just let mine be, I guess I'm just so used to them being around I don't even pay attention anymore. It seems to me that it's being pretty subtle, it might be just trying to let you know it's there.

On the other hand there could be a logical explanation, did you ask your daughter and hubby if they moved the items?

Re: I believe there is a ghost in my house, please help!!

Okay just this morning my coffee pot was missing, so I had to drive to the store to get my coffee, my husband laughed when I asked if it was him(he knew about the toothbrush and toilet paper and claims he didn't do it, my daughter didn't do it either, she's very honest) so I really don't think it was them, now I'm out of a coffee pot, lol.

My father passed in 98 and has never tried to get my attention, probably due to the fact that I prayed about it, and asked the Divine/God for it not to happen.
