hey guys

i was thinking .. Height has a lot to do with genetics... and nationality
so i dont know how that would fit into astrology natal charts

Personality, psychological tendencies, and intelligence levels have a lot to do with genetics too, but that doesn't mean you can't learn a lot more about yourself and others through astrology.

I think Uranus on the ASC or an Aquarius ASC could be one factor.

I'm Aqua Rising, my chart ruler is Uranus in Libra in the 8th House. I'm female and 5'10.

Very interesting thread...

Im a 6'1" female, porportioned very well, who has been told that while I am pretty, its an intimidating kind of beauty marked by certain facial bone structures and eyes that make me "beautiful" but have seen that that makes people afraid to approach me. I have always been a little shy because of my height and appearance and thought I was ugly until someone read my chart (without ever seeing me) and described my appearance to the exact. They said that when I dont smile, I scare intimidate people, and when I smile, it magnetically draws them to me. Also, that my appearance gets me things in life. Apparently, I am quite egoistic as well from my chart, the reader said instead of planets he sees ME ME ME all over my chart. I guess that comes from my Mars in Leo huh? They mentioned something about my asc in leo, and mars and jupiter in first houses. Then again, who knows what it is.... chart attached if anyone can make out an appearance lol

I have Sagittarius AC bi-quintile Jupiter.
I'm 5'5. People always say I'm tall the first when they meet me.

Typically, Asians are shorter than most races so it might just be a contrast effect.

Sagittarius rising, strong Jupiter aspects to ascendant. Planets in the upper hemisphere of the chart perhaps. Gemini is also another tall sign.
Mercury in the 1st as my daughter who is 6 feet tall.

INteresting to look into all this.

I agree that Aries tend to be rather on the shorter stockier side and over compensate in some cases. Aquarius is another tall sign and angular.Gemini rising with my two nephews means well over 6'2" Tall parents in both cases though.

Bi quintile is not really an aspect to consider. Genetics and family history pre-dispose to tallness. My sisters have Sun conjunct Jupiter and Moon conjunct Jupiter and they are over 5'9" regardless of their rising signs

Yes 5'5" is not tall or short and if you are wearing heels, a high hairdo you can appear at least 5'8"

Uranus in the 1st not necessarily indicative of height but can have issues with ankle calf area. The ruler of your chart and its aspects tell a fuller story.
Hilary Clinton has Uranus in Gemini in 1st and she is not tall but has rather strange shaped ankles.

The decan of the rising sign can be taken into consideration also. The sun as well perhaps.

My mom is much shorter than her 2 younger sisters (she is 5'0" and they are 5'6"-5'8").

Mom: Leo sun, Cap moon, Cancer rising
She has only 1 aspect to the ascendant - it is squaring Neptune.
Mercury in Cancer in the 1st house

Sister 1: Virgo sun, Pisces moon, Aries rising
Ascendant is trine Jupiter/Saturn/Pluto and opposing Mercury and Neptune

Sister 2: Virgo sun, Gemini moon, don't have the rising

Mutable signs in the tall sisters! That's the only thing I notice.

Height it is something about genetics, but there are also many factors that influence our height. If we take our genes into account, and compare our height within the families, than we can tell whether we are tall, short or average.

Because we are studying astrology here, it's an interesting topic to talk about. And there more information we have, the more accurate conclusion we can draw. It is also a statistic science. Sorry, that's just my opinion.

I am short with Sco rising, Ura near my Acs too. and I know one of my friend who is very tall with Ari rising and Sun/Mar conj.

I am 5'8" - female. I am the tallest in my immediate family & many others in my circle, I am Sag rising & Mars conj Asc. plus A LOT of fire in 4th house.

...jupiter in 5th? maybe because 5th rules procreation the booby thing might fit there. Jupiter rules pisces on my asc might fit for height.

I'm tall but don't know what astrologically influences my height, Asc I have Virgo with Saturn conjunct. My son looks like he will take after me for my height, still not sure if anything is seen astrologically.

It think this is something more genetically relevant... my whole family is kind of tall so obviously this is genetics, but a person has a lot of possible genes in their makeup so it could go a lot of ways, so it would make sense for astrology to influence this

as far as my own opinions, i think fire tends to be shorter (think of napoleon, havent seen his chart but i would imagine there would be a lot of fire) and i think a lot of water tends to be taller unless it is in conjunction with a lot of earth or fire. air/water, tend to be taller on the whole, i think.

somebody said something about neptune as well, and i think there is something to this... my mars and mercury oppose neptune, and im kind of tall and people have always thought i was older than i really was. i have also noticed some very good looking people with personal planets in conjunction or trine-ing neptune who are shorter and tend to look younger because their faces are more round and youthful looking.

It depends on your genes of course. Sagittarius and Gemini rising are usually tall or taller than other family members. A planet in the 1st house will always overrule a mere decan. Aspects to the ascendant modify it. It is not so simple to say that the 1st is taller and the 3rd is shorter. It doesnt work like that. We always have to look at the individual sign rising and the planets that rule the decans.
Third decan Leo rising, 26 degrees, is ruled by Aries/Mars and doesnt take on the next sign no matter how late the degree. So you may be shorter, stockier than the usual Leo rising. You can have accidents to the head through impulsive behaviour. Depends on what Mars is doing elsewhere. Like everything in astrology, it is not a simple matter.

Yes you are right but the astrology charts show what genes you have inherited as opposed to another sibling, for instance. The tall signs are Sagittarius, Gemini and some Pisceans. The 1st house influences will show the height influences and the aspects to the Moon and Sun as for inheriting characteristics from parents.

The charts are us, we are not the charts. Subtle difference.
