Re: DEATH. 8th house in cancer??
Thanks for all the advice, this is very helpful. I would like to show you my father's chart. He died at 32 in an accident at work. He was a sailor and he drowned with one of his colleagues. I learned that he even helped other colleagues to save themselves but he and the other one couldn't make it. This happened in my home town,so not on an ocean but on a river. I was four and me and my mother spoke to him that night in order to get him home (he was making a shift for a colleague), but he wouldn't come because he had an argument with my mother. Can you please tell me where do these show on the chart? I looked at the ruler of the eighth, the Moon, is in the tenth but apart from that I couldn't make anything. And what about Mercury and Pluto in Leo in the eighth? What do they have to do with anything? I mean ,why the Leo? The hour of the birth may be a little wrong, but according to my grandmother it is ok. Thanks.

Then I have just shared some information that will be useful to those who practice Vedic Astrology.
Others may not find the information as relevant to them, and that's okay.

Re: DEATH. 8th house in cancer??
Yeah but do you realize that if you flip a chart from western to vedic you get different houses, right?
degree of planets change as well.

Re: DEATH. 8th house in cancer??
My friend Mag (born 20th September 1936 at 11.27.10 pm, Adelaide, Australia; died 15th June 2010 at 10.15 pm, Adelaide, Australia) had the most efficient death I imagine is possible.
She had breast cancer and later it metastasized into brain and lung tumours and bone cancer. The doctor felt she would die of the brain tumours before the bone cancer became painful and that is what happened.
She was quite lucid up to a week before her death and lived with a friend who looked after her well. All her friends had time to visit her and say goodbye. She went into a hospice and died peacefully in her sleep within a couple of days. She really wasn't in a great deal of pain. This is shown by Secondary Progressed Jupiter conjunct natal Koch 8th cusp.
I look at her Capricorn 8th cusp and recall how organized she was. She paid for her funeral and organized the ceremony long before she died - she even bought good champagne for us all to drink at the funeral.
Saturn, the ruler of Capricorn, opposes Neptune in the natal chart and I wonder it that described the cancer? Perhaps the trine to the Moon indicates breast cancer?

Re: DEATH. 8th house in cancer??
Thank you Tikana for your interest. Here is a chart for the accident, a synastry and a composite between the natal chart and the accident. Even at a first look, things don't look good at all!

Re: DEATH. 8th house in cancer??
thanks everyone for resonding to my thread. sorry i havent been on in a while to respond. like many people here have stated, i too have a morbid fascination with the possible correlations between death and birthcharts; though it is, as someone here already said, likely to be influenced as much by concurrent transgressions; unless that is, fate really is written in stone.
anyhow, thanks to the people who highlighted the connection with the 8th house ruler; id never thought of that one before. mine is the moon, conjunct saturn in 2nd house capricorn (yup, im desperately trying to be optimistic about it).
however my chart ruler is jupiter, in the 8th house.
i realise now that i should have uploaded my chart to get a clearer idea of the whole picture. here it is. id greatly appreciate if any one could offer interpretations as to what they could mean to my longevity and possible death; i ask such morbid questions, because im genuinely intrigued and serious about trying to make medical correlations with the astrological influences. thanks again to anyon who would like to add to the explorative nature of this intrigue.
i was born, 28/09/1990 13:26, larne, northern ireland, uk.

Re: DEATH. 8th house in cancer??
An interesting thread. I personally love the 8th house Matters so death feels quite intertwined within my psyche.
I personally have 8th in scorpio (except by whole signs where it falls into Libra with a Stellium). I have Jupiter in 8th & read that it means a natural death with a long life. (Jupiter for expansion of life).
My 8th Ruler is in 8th Whilst the 4th comprises of the sun & luckily 6th is empty in Virgo.
But 8th is not the only house to look at because other aspects need to be evaluated. There are some posts on Uranus in 8th. Do remember that Uranus goes with electricity & technology. It can happen from a faulty switch board. Be careful when handling gadgets etc.
Neptune in 8th can lend towards drugs or Alcohol. I think there were Neptune aspects on Whitney's chart lately if I remember correctly.
Mars-Pluto issues can resort to settling the 'Power' struggle by violence. Assassination has been noted with these planets amongst the politicians.
But Sue Thompkins mentioned Jupiter to be a culprit in heart diseases. Sun-Jupiter- enlarged heart. Moon-Jupiter- Weak heart etc. I would agree to Leo going well in tune with the Heart diseases as well.
Remember to look at the chart on the whole instead of 'houses'. See the kind of health issues the native suffers from physical to psychological. There can be chronic illness with Uranus & mental illnesses with Neptune or hypochondria etc.
Edited: Neptune also goes with Drowning (Water-accidents), Chemicals & bad aspects with moon can signify eating disorders. (Dying Anorexics)

Re: DEATH. 8th house in cancer??
what about the 8th house ruler being in the AS house ?
i read in another place, this would mean suicide or killing yourself due to your facts/acts...
I have 8th house sign virgo and Mercury in the 2nd house in pisces
in the same time I have saturn in 8th house opposite sun in pisces...
i don't know what this really means... i read that saturn in 8th opposite luminaries means short life...
what do you think ?

Re: DEATH. 8th house in cancer??
Diana the Princess had an 8th house in Cancer (whole signs). The Ruler of the 8th was in 3rd house, also Mercury ruler of the 3rd house was on 8th. So we could say it was <<obvious>> a fatal road accident in her chart?

Not that obvious IMO
I say that because associations of the 3rd House are neighbors/local neighborhood/where one lives/works and short journeys, as well as brothers/sisters, cousins and other family members – but not parents, they're 4th/10th and this is common knowledge, widely available in many books as well as online
BUT Diana, Princess of Wales died abroad after a long journey far from her local neighborhood
The death of Diana, Princess of Wales was however internationally covered by news media and IMO that is the significance of Moon being on cusp of 8th (using whole sign houses) and then ruler of 8th being in 3rd - BECAUSE common knowledge significations of 3rd house also include rumours, reports, messages, messengers, newspapers, magazines telephones, speeches and communication in general. Moon being ruler of 8th links to the idea of publicity since the moon also represents the general public.
