Do any of you use the chatroom?

We used to use the chatroom here a lot when Radu first added it to the forums; if I remember correctly, we would schedule live "Chat Sessions" during a particularly favorable Moon-Mercury aspect and members would sign on at this time in their respective time zones.

The chatroom fell out of use about a year ago few months ago, although I've been in there occasionally.

I'm sure Radu wouldn't mind scheduling these "Chat Sessions" again if enough members expressed interest; I'd start up a poll, but I don't want to do so without Radu's permission. Gotta keep the boss happy!

Here are the targeted Moon-Mercury aspects for the next 2 years. Chat sessions will be scheduled to start 1.5 hours earlier and to last for 2 hours.

There is the in-built Calendar which we may use in order to announce the chat sessions to members. To access it, go to Quick Links in the menu and select it from there.

I don't think we've ever had official topics before; we could try, but from past experience, the conversation always moves in sometimes-unexpected directions. This can be a good thing, because sometimes we can cover topics we hadn't thought of before

The overall theme of each chat session might be given by Moon's position by sign.
For instance, for a Sagittarius Moon, talk about mundane, for a Libra Moon - relationships, Gemini - horary, Aquarius - new age stuff, Pisces - esoteric, Capricorn - financial, vocational, Cancer - genealogy, family issues, Scorpio - sex, Taurus - money, assets, preferences - and so on.
As for the main transits, I think the Moon's sign ruler would be the obvious pick: we may talk about Pluto transits during the Moon in Scorpio, Jupiter transits during the Moon in Sagittarius, Saturn transits [Saturn returns] during the Moon's transit in Capricorn, Uranus transits during the Moon in Aquarius, Neptune transits during the Moon in Pisces.
Beth, would you like to specify also the general theme of the chat session according to the Moon sign?

The Moon - Mercury aspect is the most appropriate for an ephemerous chat, but with good relating and communication.

Go to the Calendar page http://www.astrologyweekly.com/forum/calendar.php, click on the Astrology Chat Session event and you will find out the local time for you according to your timezone settings.

I was just about to tackle the project of entering all of these times and dates into the calendar, but before I make a mistake and have to redo the entire thing...do I set the time an hour or half hour before the culmination of the Moon-Mercury aspect or exactly at the moment of the Moon-Mercury aspect?

I know we used to have a system for this, but it's been so long since I've entered Live Chat times into the Calendar that I've forgotten how we used to do it...

Well, there isn't a rule that states that members have to wait until scheduled Live Chat sessions to use the chatroom--at least that I'm aware of--so you can always try opening the chatroom in another window and see if anyone joins you

Perhaps we should put up an announcement on the main page a day or so before the event to remind everyone because the notice at the bottom of the page is just too easily missed...
