Sun Conjunct South Node

Hello. I know someone who has a Sun-South Node conjunction/Sun-North Node Opposition. It can't be good, because the south node is a "bad influence". I don't know her birth time, so I don't really know anything except that the conjunction is a 1 degree orb and is in Gemini. What can this mean?

held back, to mike

mike,

Conjunctions (energy is combined with) South node (the past) indicates the person is "held back" in their life. Take a look at the house where the North node (future goals) is and encourage them to develop goals which match the North node focus.

Moving on,

Tim

Re: Sun Conjunct South Node

Sun and South Node represents past and present concerns in relation to descriptive meanings of the Sun.

Sun is the father, and perhaps authority. The sun represents identity and the manner in which male role models may have played a part in Sun/south node issues.

Some indicators show that the person has a different kind of Dad, that he is not like other dads. Then there is the step father or fathers and other male role models that may all add to the confusion around "who am I".

One must look at the house that the Sun rules and the ruler of the North node and its aspects and of course the Sun's aspects to get a better picture.

I have Sun (6*)conjunct my South Node (4*), as well - in Sagittarius, in the 11th. The Sun rules my 8th house.
Any thoughts on how "father issues" may be represented by this? (or any other thoughts on the Sun/SN) I have had some "doozy" father issues - identity crisis being only one of them.

The only aspects made (other than the obvious opposition to the NN) are a tight sextile (1* orb) to my Moon in Aquarius/cusp of 2nd house, and a loose square(4*orb-Sun, 6*orb- SN) to Saturn in Pisces in the 2nd.

Re: Sun Conjunct South Node

Hello Freedomlover

I wish I could say that was a "loose" aspect from your Sun-Saturn. Usually the square to Saturn is the critical father, who has rules and disciplines and boundaries to work with.

The Moon sextile helps with the over-worrying factor here. The south node is where your best work is done to understand the issues you speak about. The trick is to do the acceptance work over time and then find a way to move beyond (transcend) the south nodes implications for acting out the same kind of life situations brought about by the father issues.

If you have had a step father or someone else who better fulfils the father role modelling then he is your "second chance" and hope to adjust things somewhat. Perhaps friends or special kind of groups may allow you the anger work or offer you a role to practice assertiveness and leadership skills. That would be great for your sense of identity dont you think?
