Jupiter and good fortune
Where Jupiter is placed in your chart do you feel it brings you good fortune and opportunities in the house it is placed. Or is it a place where you overdo things, are over optimistic. I know a lot of it depends on aspects to Jupiter, but I would like to know if good fortune comes to you in your Jupiter house.

Re: Jupiter and good fortune
Shining Ray,
Jupiter is conjunct Uranus in cancer on my H8 cusp (tumours-yes, I've had them) but this placement also gives an *11th hour reprieve* too if well aspected by transits. I've had a lot more death in my life than many,in fact I have a pattern of connecting up with people engaged in life and death struggles. Jupiter is exalted in cancer and this is where the benefits come.
i never win competitions, lotteries etc but in many ways I feel I am lucky. jupiter and uranus in H8 well describes my doing astrology on the internet. Last time jupiter transited my asc in cap I put quite a bit of weight on and went through a protracted period of very bad luck and bad health. It's heading there again actually as I have sag in my H12.Will keep you posted. What is your jupiter placement? Regards, lillyjgc

Re: Jupiter and good fortune
Hi Lilly,
Thanks for the feedback. I have my Jupiter in Leo 11th. Big involvement in groups, well mostly this Astrology Forum . I benefit from being here as I learn loads and my self awareness has increased massively, which has helped me try and get out of some of my self defeating habits. My Jupiter squares Chiron in the 9th, so the wounded/healer placement. I have a couple of out of sign trines to Mercury/Moon in Pisces 7th. And Jupiter opposes my 5th house Venus in Capricorn which I have read can be a social climber aspect, but maybe this may relate more to my partner than me. But overall in the group area of my chart where my Jupiter is placed I enjoy it.

Re: Jupiter and good fortune
I work as a healer/psychic as well as astrology and a lot of my *luck*-Jupiter comes through my work-even though the jupiter/uranus is very close square to my mercury/neptune conjunction in house 10. When anything triggers the uranus end or the mercury end I get an influx of clients...I am a bit over enthusiastic at times and jupiter can have this effect as we know.I have had very little involvement directly in legal affairs but have helped many with theirs. The only time I went to court, I won.Only one (so far!) client has lost a court case that I helped them with and that's because she withdrew her case after it began as she couldn't take the pressure.I think Jupiter/mercury contacts are helpful-even a square, but not in opposition. Re: Jupiter and good fortune
Hi Lilly,
Jupiter would really enhance your psychic abilities, I don't think your psychic healing abilities would be that strong if it was a trine between these aspects, as we know squares can be a lot more productive. I think your lovely Jupiter helps people through times of crisis (7th -8th) you use your Jupiter to have a very positive affect. I overdo my Jupiter at times and get too enthusiastic and can suffer little let downs when no one shares this enthusiasm. I suppose it can be a place where we are over optimistic but as they say positive thinking usually brings positive results. Jupiter has it's downfalls of course with hypocrisy, inflation and grandiosity the exaggerated style of Jupiter which we can all fall into. Just one question Why would you say the Jupiter oppositions can't be as helpful as the square.

Re: Jupiter and good fortune
I am thinking I guess of aspects like Jupiter 0pp the sun -which can cause bragging...opp mercury:boasting and overtalking..opp Mars:the classic "thief"; opposite Saturn:the liar; etc of course these are the nergative traits of Jupiter- A friend of mine has her jupiter Cj pluto and she is obsessive and bullying...as jupiter expands things it can really wreak havoc when it joins in with another unfavourable aspect. It can be soo helpful but also a transit from it can be a trigger for really big events..Of course we learn from our oppositions and polarities just as much from squares- but an opposition from a benefic can turn it into a negative sometimes - jupiter in combo with the malefics hasn't been too good in my experience...lillyjgc

Re: Jupiter and good fortune
I have jupiter in the third house and unaspected in sagittarius.
I dont't know if it's bringing me good luck, because my brothers
are not very good with me. I don't travel as much as I like. The only
positive thing is that I'm learning a lot of things, however it's more
breath than depth, could be this thanks to Jupiter?

Re: Jupiter and good fortune
With Jupiter,it's definitely more a matter of optismism and positive thinking than plain good luck.I have Jupiter Rx at3º50'Leo in my7th house, and I have never been particularly lucky with the typical7th house matters(i.e. boys ).

Re: Jupiter and good fortune
I have Jupiter in Leo in the 5th house. I also have some traditionally positive aspects between Jupiter and some other planets in my natal chart: Mars square Jupiter, Sun sextile Jupiter, Mercury sextile Jupiter.
I would say that I'm relatively lucky. Some really good things in life have fallen into my lap. However, I'd like to think I worked to get myself into the position to take advantage of that luck.

Re: Jupiter and good fortune
It's nice to hear that some of you think that Jupiter square's are not exactly that bad - cause I have always thought that they were. I have Jupiter square's to Mercury, Moon and Sun and I feel that it has caused me a little trouble but also some good things.
First of all it has really made my Capricornian nature so much more wider and optimistic. Of course my Neptune conjuct Sun has something to do with optimism too, but I feel a lot of it comes from my Aries Jupiter.
My Jupiter is in 12th house and I have always loved to search stuff within myself and I really feel like there is a whole wide world inside my heart and mind. Jupiter in 12th has caused me trouble too, I have been in hospital for long times as youngster and because of my illness I have to go there every now and then and in the future even more. This illness is shown in my chart by so many aspects, Saturn in 9th, Neptune conj. Sun etc. but Jupiter must be part of it. And I have had extreme luck in my illness and in hospitals general, so I hope my lovely Jupiter will keep working like that when I get in bad state again.
But for the squares I have to say that they cause a lot problems - especially the tight square to my mercury. First of all, I am quite impatient learner and I learn quite slowly if I am not really interestied (mercury in capricorn). My problem is very often that when I speak, I somehow produce myself so that people think that I am more judgemental, more strickt, more single-minded than I really am. It causes problems, cause it makes people irritated and makes me look something I am not. So this is something I really have to work with in my life. I am also very sloppy, I hate cleaning more than anything and I am so bad with noticing details.
Something good also, I think that my CRAZY sense of humor has something to do with my jupiter. My humor is so wild and really mind boardening that I cannot keep up with it myself. This is also a huge thing and of course we cappy's tend to have good sense of humor (or we think so ) and Moon in Cancer applied to my strong neptunian nature and Jupiter aspects - you can really just imagine how creative I can be when it comes to fooling around and making fun of myself. :P
