sun opposite moon

hey,

I'm a taurus and i have a scorpio moon. i know that this means i need to achieve an inner harmony, but can someone please give me an example of how i might do so with knowing what each of these signs needs? I know that scorpio is interested in death and rebirth and taurus has all to do with "life". and so i still feel pulled in two different directions! i just don't understand these things and i'd appreciate some advice. it's quit a balancing act, can i pull it off or will i always be fickle, as my friends call me? can i possibly learn about how my energies are working and then use both in tandem with each other? surely earth and water "complement" each other, so does this mean i'm already in balance but i just can't sense it?

Re: sun opposite moon

As to how I would describe the Sun/Moon combo you have:
These signs are associated with the Buddha's enlightenment. So I would think this lifetime is a very spiritual one - and that includes the spiritualization of matter, honoring the earth and its resources (including your own body!)
The "Middle Way" is the way - don't go too far out on one tangent in one part of your life to the exclusion and detriment of other parts.

It sounds like you are already have a sense of the Middle Way being "the way", for I noticed you used the phrases "quite a balancing act", and "use both in tandem with each other"

As to what each sign needs.... a few thoughts....Scorpio Moon seeks deep emotional connections. A Scorpio Moon can get really mean if it holds on to resentment - forgiveness is essential. A Taurus Sun needs to have its material needs met, and have a respect for and rapport with nature. A Taurus Sun needs to appreciate and enjoy the physical world through its bodily senses.

Re: sun opposite moon

I think it is necessary to know what houses your sun and moon are in. I have Sun opposite Moon too with my Moon in Gemini and 1st house and the Sun in Sagittarius 7th house. The Moon represents your emotional needs, what you need to feel secure about yourself. In my case since the Moon is in the 1st house to feel secure I need to feel that I can be independent, that I don't need anyone else, I don't have any or need any ties. However the Sun represents what you need to feel fulfilled. My Sun in the 7th house means to be fulfilled and happy I need to be around other people and form close ties with them. As you can see the two desires are somewhat contradictory. My experience is the houses are quite important.

With the signs. My moon in Gemini means that to be emotionally secure I need to be able to analyze and rationalize the world around me in terms of details. The sun in Sagittarius means to be happy I need to feel that there is a "meaning" to it all, to understand the wider picture.

I guess with your Scorpio Moon, in order to feel emotionally secure you need control. You feel the need to control your emotions and other people around you. You feel the need to be secretive and to hide things from other people. You don't open up easily. Scorpio is a water sign so all this is very emotionally driven. Your Taurus Sun however is very practical. To feel fulfilled and happy you want material goods and luxury. The contradiction may come that your Scorpio side is ever suspicious and may be a bit paranoid. Your Taurus side is practical and may think your suspicions and need for control overblown. Taurus doesn't like to feel uncomfortable. They don't like thinking about nebulous watery emotions. They are an earth sign and earth is about what is practical and in front of you right now. They are both fixed signs as well. With the double dose of fixity you are likely to be extremely stubborn and set in your ways and capable of great perseverance and endurance. This might make things a bit more difficult for you. In my case the opposition are both mutable so they are theoretically more able to adapt to each other. In your case, the opposition involve fixed signs so you may have to work a bit harder to get them to adapt.

As for the compatability of earth and water. If mixed right you get growth (vegetation). If mixed wrong you get mud. Fire and air are supposed to go together as well, but if things go badly you don't get a nice cheery warm fire, you get a destructive inferno. It's not as if there is no connection between Taurus and Scorpio. They are both about controlling things, grabbing onto things and not letting go. It's just that Taurus is about controlling material possessions and Scorpio is about controlling emotions, yours and others. They both have a mantra of "Mine, mine, mine."

Re: sun opposite moon

sun in the 7th house and moon in fourth. interpretations, please?

wow, thank you so much for the in-depth. who better than someone who has the same, so called, affliction to help me out. astrology has saved me so much in figuring out why i am the way i am, and thus teaching me how i can change for the better. if i want my life to change, i have to be the one who changes. so controlling others? i'm already over that trait at least.

Re: sun opposite moon

If you have the Moon in 4th and sun in 7th you cannot possibly have a Moon-Sun opposition.

Re: sun opposite moon

I have to admit I don't know much about the 12th house. It's always confused me, mostly because every description I've ever read of it tends to go into mystical spiritual stuff that makes me go "Huh?". The 6th house however is about work and duty. So I guess if your Moon is in the 6th house to be emotionally secure you feel the need to work a lot and I guess always be busy doing something. Maybe your Scorpio tendencies for emotional control in this regard might be focused around your workplace. Which could be dangerous...You may also be worried about health excessively as the 6th house is to do with health and sickness. Since your Sun is in the 12th to feel fulfilled and happy you may be more artistic and I guess kind and compassionate to other people. The 6th-12th axis is about serving others, but the 6th is more about practical serving (think of the practical no-nonsense nurse) whilst the 12th is more about emotionally feeling what other people other feeling (think of a person who always feels other people's pain) so I'm guessing this is where your main feelings of being pulled in opposite directions lie. The 6th is about doing things for other people, the 12th is about feeling things for other people.

You have a bit of a strange thing in that the 12th house which is a water house is in an earth sign and the 6th house which is an earth house is in a water sign so I guess you may bring more practicality to your emotions and you may bring emotions to your practical stuff.

Re: sun opposite moon

my heads hurts, how about yours? lol, pray for july 10th, apparently that trickster will be out of retrograde. until that happens i'll probably type everything backwards (it's moon in 12th and sun in 6th) and i'm scared of even posting this now! *rolls eyes*

but i understand now about what these houses are about. thanks much and sorry for the mix up.

Re: sun opposite moon

Hi Merwolf,

Could you please post your chart,so we can take a look at it?You see,not one single aspect of your birth chart is working alone.Every planet and every aspect interacts with the other chart factors, and,at leats in my opinion,it is impossible to interpret one single aspect without looking at the entire chart.Your Sun/Moon opposition may have(and it probably does)aspects with other planets that give it a different 'feeling'.

If your post your chart,or your birth data,I'll see what can I do for you

Regards,
Lissa

Re: sun opposite moon

Hi
I got Sun Moon opposition too. I think my life was not much happy due to this feature. Sun in Virgo in the 2nd with a square to Neptun in the 5th and Moon in Pisches in the 8th with no other aspect in my chart. So whats happened so far, (I am 31) was lot's of heart-brokens. Some says if one has Sun in the 2nd, I should be someone who value the materyal things a lot. No actually I was not after money. All I wanted was real love but I always found myself in relationships that I victimize myself. Probably the other aspects to this opposition (in my case it was a square to Neptun by Sun) is very important that shows the patterns of life. Well I wish I did not have this opposition. ...
