Surviving Saturn Return. Any insight?
My natal Saturn is at 13' Scorpio and I will be experiencing my first Saturn return soon. Id like to Have feedback from others who have experienced their saturn returns and what I should expect? Any insight would be great this year has been turbulent already as I've had 3 Saturn transits aspecting personal planets that end in August/ early sept. (thank god!) so not sure how much more of saturns influence I can take...

Re: Surviving Saturn Return. Any insight?
Actually my experience of the Saturn return was not so bad, it was intense, but it also gave my life a completely new direction, which made a lot more sense and was also much more fulfilling - so on the whole it was good!
I experienced the time leading up to my Saturn return as the worst part of it, going through a lot of self-doubt at that time, questioning my whole life, then with the actual Saturn return, things became clear..
That's just my experience, i think it depends a lot on where Saturn is in your chart by sign and house and on the aspects it makes.
You might already know this, there's a book with your thread title "Surviving Saturn's return":
http://www.amazon.com/Surviving-Satu...e+of+Your+Life
from what i remember it is quite good..

A lot of people don't have bad saturn returns...guess it depends on where you are in life.

Re: Surviving Saturn Return. Any insight?
There is more than just Saturn returning to it's own place to consider; there are also the natal aspects and house position of Saturn. For me, Saturn with Neptune in the 12th house, squaring natal Venus unleashed a whole series of critical changes in my life in it's first return. My experience involved the marital separation and eventual divorce, death of my parents and duplicity and deception in an inheritance debate causing permament estrangement from my siblings...it was a total free for all and for a time it seemed that I was paralyzed year after years...in the next decade I felt beaten and broken; still at the same time it forced me in the long run to expand my perceptions, to endure and to learn about my true inner self; it was about judiciousness, financial instability and reclaiming my own sense of autonomy, rather than relying on others for trust, support, dependence and fulfilment...now as I approach my second return, I am learning about loving myself, healing and reconnecting with my divinity...
whatever's comin', there's no place left to go: all we can do is to move through the cycle with openness and objectivity, endurance and fortitude and the understanding that the sacrifices we may be required to make are all part of our pre-planned destiny.

Re: Surviving Saturn Return. Any insight?
i have saturn in cancer 12 degree, in 12th house. With only square aspects (to sun, mercury, jupiter, pluto), which means this planet is torturing me all my life. But, my experience of saturn return was actually wanderful ~ as if all the bad aspect were annihilated! Alas, the rescuing effect lasted until saturn moved forward...

Wow kimbermoon that sounds intense! Glad you made it through alright and learned the necessary lessons. My natal Saturn is at 13 Scorpio and is opposing my sun in the 10th which is the only stressful aspect so hopefully it will not be too bad. Possibly a change in home or career. This past year Saturn has been aspecting my moon, Venus and mercury all in Aries and its been pretty chaotic my fiancé noticed my mood change dramatically and even suggested antidepressants but I declined knowing that the Saturn transits should end towards the end of August beginning of sept....I decided to try and stick it out, but I have had more self doubt and I've been more introverted lately, questioning a lot of my life decisions and my life path...

Wow luxsaxon could only imagin what that's like. I have Saturn opposing my sun and that influence alone is pretty hard sometimes...I'm glad to hear your Saturn return went well that gives me hope! I've heard good stories and bad but either way it does seem to be a turning point in a lot of people's lives one friend of mine got a job promotion with more responsibility but it was a good time for him. And another girl I know got a divorce, moved, lost her business so it was complete turmoil for her..guess it depends a lot on sign placement/house and aspects. I've also heard somewhere that Saturn has a lot to do with karma and what kind of seeds you've sown leading up to that point. And that you basically reap what you have sown. Have you heard this theory before?

Good to know. I feel like I've taken on my responsibilities in life and not shunned them so I'm hoping Saturn will reward me instead of punish me.

Re: Surviving Saturn Return. Any insight?
I have written an article on how to work with the Saturn Return here: http://aliceportman.com/saturn-cycle...-natal-saturn/ plus other articles on Saturn in the 'Saturn' menu.
Hopefully you find it both interesting and helpful.

I have Saturn at 18 Scorpio opposing my sun at 14 taurus. I've been through more than one Saturn return and survived. They can be challenging, but you'll come out the other end better for it.

Re: Surviving Saturn Return. Any insight?
Hmm I don't really get it. Like are we going through our saturn returns already technically? I mean the way it was explained to me is that it's happening in the time (year) before it hits directly, and then peaks at that pivotal point. Maybe I am perceiving it incorrectly, but if you're at 13 scorpio and I'm at 4 scorpio, aren't we already being molested?
Admittedly I haven't been paying much attention to what saturn has been doing to me for the past year but things haven't really felt that bad at all. I have been at a complete lull in most respects of my life, but this has been prodigiously more pleasant to endure than the last few years of %&*!!&T*%&* drama-trauma-omg have been.
I do feel like I need to get my *bottom* (surely this won't be ****'d out) moving though.

If it makes you feel any better, and not quite scarred,...I lost my virginity during my Saturn return.

Sentient one your Saturn and sun signs are similar to mine. My sun is 8 Taurus and Saturn is 13 degree Scorpio. What house placements are your sun and moon? And what did u experience during your Saturn returns? Just curious.

That would make sense. I do feel like I am going through a Saturn period already. I guess that is why I was worried about how much more of Saturn I can endure. But Saturn has been opposing my Venus, mercury and moon in Aries. I've had many trials with my relationship and complications with my pregnancy as well as a lot of financial uncertainties this past year. So I'm hoping things will get better soon!

My sun is in the 5th house, saturn in 11th using the placidus system. I really don't recall anything unusual during the time of my first Saturn return. But that was a long time ago . I was married with two children, the third not yet conceived. I'm' looking forward to the second return just so I can pay closer attention this time around.
I was so very aware of when transiting Pluto moved over my Ascendant. Now THAT was a major impact to me, my life, my relationship. A lot of change took place with that energy.
What houses are your sun and saturn?

Re: Surviving Saturn Return. Any insight?
The time surrounding my Saturn Return was the most intense period of my life, emotionally and creatively. I had launched a major project at around 6 degree prior to my 12th House Leo Saturn Return (April 2006), graduated from my Master's (June 2006), then on the exact degree of the Saturn Return (July 2006), I met someone whom I fell for, and it resulted in being fearful about relationships the first time in my life - powerful emotions, meltdowns, blackouts, breakdowns, divorce from a relatively harmonious marriage, move to another continent... 6 years after, I feel that I'm finally getting over the roller coaster ride. It was also during those years of crisis that I first started looking for answers with astrology and found the "coincidences" uncanny.
Actually, looking at my chart, I think that the art project was more the Saturn square Uranus effect, as it was metaphorically a project that was to "kill the father/tuer le père". I managed to get the project finished in 2009 and published in Germany and exhibited in Japan, China,Europe, US... I don't even know how I managed it as I was such an emotional wreck after the Saturn Return, basically waking up crying every single morning for about 2 years. The worst part was that the Saturn Return person contacted me again, and we had lots of backs and forths, but in fact, it was just to purchase my artwork for his collection
Sometimes I miss the intensity and the urgency of it, but definitely relish my sanity too much to voluntarily go through any of that again. The most important thing it taught me was not to have fear, which is itself Saturnian. I would say that the immediate aftermath was more Dionysian, but eventually I had to tone down and become serious as far as relationships go. I'm now in a super stable relationship again.
I'm actually a bit apprehensive about the coming Saturn Square. Any experience with that?
