Is there something wrong with his eye?

Hello Everyone

Is there something wrong with his eye? I asked this on 25th March 2007 at 23.23 (11.23pm) BST in London. The ascendent is 18 degrees Scorpio.

I had a disagreement with an ex friend a little while ago and have not spoken to him since but he texted me on Sunday to say he had a 'probable' detached retina. I did some research online and it appears you either have one or you don't and as it is a medical emergency he wouldn't be able to go to the eye hospital in a weeks time like he said after supposedly being seen at a hospital last Friday as it would need to be seen to on the spot so I asked the question as I think its really an attempt to make me talk to him. (He has done things like this before incidently).

The 7th house is ruled by Venus which in its own sign and quite strong but in his 12th house (radical 6th) so I am taking this to mean he is fit and well and hiding something. Venus is also applying to conjunct Saturn by antiscion which rules my 3rd house of communication - antiscions usually depict the hidden or unseen so could indicate him lying.

The 10th and 4th houses are not fixed and would need to be if it were true from what I've read. The 1st and 7th are in fixed signs though but I'm not sure how relevant this is.

I shall stick my neck out and say 'no' there is nothing wrong with his eye based on what I found out in the chart.

Does anyone see anything different or something else I should consider?

Thank you!

JR

The eyes are ruled by the Luminaries, in order to tell which Luminary it is you need to know which eye he claims to have the problem with.

I happen to know its the right eye which is ruled by the Sun - but what if I didn't know? The Sun is exalted so I'm assuming there is nothing wrong with it.

Thanks!

You would look at both luminaries, seeing if they are debilitated in any way.

Dont be so quick to judge that, exaltation is just ONE dignity, the Sun could be in the 12th which would debilitate it more. Is the Sun debilitated in any other way? Im assuming it was an accident? If so, is Mars inflicting the Sun?

PS: Have you checked to see if this chart is radical?

Re: Is there something wrong with his eye?

I checked all the debilities but I can't see any afflictions (maybe its me with eye problems!! ) but that is why I have asked if anyone else can see what I may have missed!

The Moon is ruled by Cancer so its in its own sign and isn't afflicted in the radical 8th house. The sun is ruled by Mars on the radical 5th house cusp. The Sun and Moon are separating from a square aspect. There are no aspects to Mars or Saturn applying or separating from either planets.

It wasn't an accident, he's been complaining about the eye for at least two or three years now. A detached retina is a medical emergency and if that's what it is he would have been blind by now. He never complained of any visual disturbances only that it was irritated by cats as he is allergic to them which made them itchy and he now doesn't live in a house with a cat! He also has really long hair and the fringe is at eye level which could also cause irritation but easily remedied by a hair cut! He is claiming he has a serious eye condition, an irritation that can sorted out by himself is not the same as something that can make you go blind very quickly.

The planetary hour and ascendant don't match but my sun sign is Scorpio which rules the first house - is that ok?

Thanks for your help.

There are a few methods of testing a chart to see if its Radical, does the Ascendant sound like you (physically?). You say that its your Sun Sign but the Sun usually doesnt rule physical characteristics unless its in the 1st.

Id say thats Radical enough then.

Squares and Oppositions between the Luminaries can create problems with the eyes and eyesight. I dont believe though it is as serious as hes letting on. Especially since its separating which means in Horary the "past".

Are their any Planets in the first? The first House rules the Head and therefore the eyes as well. If there isnt, is there any malevolent aspect between the Lord of the first and the Sun?

Re: Is there something wrong with his eye?

There are no planets in the radical 1st house nor in the turned 1st (his 7th) and there are also no aspects between Mars and the Sun.

So can we safely say he doesn't have a detached retina?
