New Astrology Study Group?

A new acquaintance of mine would like to start up an astrology study group that could eventually turn into a study center and more.

What I want to know is if there is a genuine interest and if all parties concerned (potentially three people, I've not met the third person which is adding to my hesitancy here) are truly committed to this.

I am at a place right now where I feel very selfish in regards to my time. I have lots of little things that I am beginning (and wrapping up) and though this is an enticing and exciting offer, I am not one to squander my energies or time.

Can anyone see if this venture is worth my getting into? I'd appreciate any help.

Hey Munch,

I don't understand when you mention your acquaintance. Are they starting the group, or is it you? Or are you saying they want you to start it up and you are just asking if it's worth it?

Two other people want to start it with me and I wanted to know is it worth my effort and time.

(Following is not in accordance with standard horary practice and uses whole sign house format)

-study group = 9th and 11th houses (Taurus and Cancer)
-Part of Fortune is in 9th house = strong + testimony
-significators of study group are Venus and Moon
-Moon flows toward POF (+) but Venus and querent's Mercury flow away from the POF (-) = net - testimony
-Moon is well place by house (angular 7th) and sign (Pisces) = + testimony
-Moon flows toward Venus = + testimony
-Moon flows toward querent Mercury = + testimony
-Venus is well placed by house (angular 10th) but detrimented by being sign conjunct the SN, although Venus is direct and is flowing away from the SN = net neutral testimonies
-Mercury is in 12th house of the chart (may show querent's doubts about this matter) = - testimony
-Sun disposits Mercury and in turn the Sun is in the 11th whole sign house (one of the 2 quesited signifying houses) and both significators Venus and the Moon flow toward the Sun = + testimony

Results:
Positive = +5 testimonies
Negative = -2 testimonies
Net = +3 testimonies

...with a net +3 testimonies the answer to this question would be "yes it would be worthwile for you to participate and be active in this new study group"...

Hi again,

I'll try to return the favour for answering my composite chart in the other thread... (will try with the little horary skills I have anyway.)

First, your signifactor, Mercury is decisive, information-hunting, communicative and rational. You like to listen and forumulate, feel you know a lot and can easily disseminate information at rapid-fire speeds. You're quite able and apt to do this. What I can't figure out is why you are posited in 12th here though. Despite your ability, you seem to be holding back for some reason on your own terms, of your own accord. Let's look further for why later...

The studies, I believe would be a combination of 3rd/9th house axis matters. 3rd for communicating and imparting and 9th for the knowledge and content itself. Venus is conunct Jupiter in Gemini in the 10th. I think you'd have no trouble at all being able to impart that astro wisdom. In fact, this placement shows you'd soar with examples, perspectives, touch on different and varied areas with flying colours. I love the Jupiter conjunction in the house of communication itself, Gemini here.

Those students you mentioned would most likely be Jupiter or Saturn. I say both, meaning ruling the 6th/subordinates or the 7th/other. I'm torn between which one to use - so will use both.... As Jupiter, well, you know they are conjunct you, in the house of success/10th and the energy is flowing between you. As Saturn, they are in your 2nd house as resources. There is no aspect with you being Mercury and then as Saturn, (yet they are dignified). I take this to mean they will think they know the info/Venus and exalt themselves/Saturn Libra, but will give themselves too much credit. Not sure. They would be ruled by the communication, yet not dignified in their right is what I'm trying to say. I like them better as Jupiter and I think you do too, because your Moon is there in Pisces. There is a mixed reception in that vein. I wonder if Neptune there is showing your current confusion with the "other" student(s).

I think there are no real red lights here to your venture. I think its what you make this to be (being in your 12th). You seem to have the power here to make or break it. The students are there and willing, liking the subject matter and seem to be committed, but it is still entirely your call. I like to think of the 12th house as the backstage before it comes out into the public/1st house. Therefore, it is what you make/manifest and create at this point. You seem to be in a very "creative" state overall here with that main sig and your Moon in Pisces.

Do I need to mention POF in your house of enlightenment/learning/higher studies? It's a beauty there. As well as Verte, which I only look at when the astrologer chooses to include it. It was meant to be shown. And you have it in your 6th house of service to others in Aquarius, no less!

Best of luck whatever you decide. It is just obvious you would be a success if you decide to do it. Your call.

Thank you for breaking that down so artfully for me! I really like both your's and Dr. Farr's take on house selections too. In many respects I feel that they are both valid!

I am not certain why I am Mercury. I am guessing because this revolves around communication, learning, etc.

At a quick look, I think you are Mercury because you are a little bit critical and what you don't like to show.
Here, in your special question, Mercury (you) is in the 12th and that means for me, that there is well a project but which isn't yet coming to realize now. Mercury is well aspecting Jupiter (ruler of the group), conjuncting Venus and the Midheaven from the 9th. It would be better and clearer if they would be in the 10th.
So, until here the project could be a very positive one but only in a future time. I will say it isn't already ripe to work.
My only care would be for Mars in the 2nd oppositing Uranus. If there will be money implicated, then, in your place, I wouldn't take any decision for now, because there could be a sudden crash in any way, either with money or in relations. So, think almost over it, there is no hurry.
