What Does My Chart Show More Of An Aptitude For?
I've had a longtime interest in clothing and fashion/fashion imagery, which I probably inherited from my mom and my dad's mom, who both sew, knit, crochet, and design clothes. I've entertained the idea of being a fashion designer ever since I was eleven or so, but I've always had varying interests. I've wanted to be a lawyer, a teacher, a social worker, a dance choreographer, a filmmaker, and a journalist at different times (and even all at once!). But my major interest besides fashion (which kind of competes for my focus and attention on fashion) is social work and mental health. I'm very drawn toward counseling and psychotherapy. I admire people who do that kind of work very much. So my question is which direction would I likely have more success? What would I likely be better at? What would I likely be good at period? I'm open to any advice anyone can offer.

Can you post your chart?

Doh! My apologies - I completely forgot to post my chart . I use the internet at the library and I didn't realize my gaffe until it was too late. So I had to wait to do anything about it (sighs). So here's my post again with my chart.

It seems that your parents have prepared you for your true career . My suggestion is to pursue the art and fashion design and apply your psychological and analytic gifts to yourself within your career choice.
Also find a partner who shares your passion for design and things will unfold beautifully.
best regards,
Ion

Re: What Does My Chart Show More Of An Aptitude For?
Venus rules fashion generally. Your Venus is very strong in its own sign of Libra. Maybe the question is more what sort of designs you would make-- probably after some introductory courses you will have the option-- and requirement-- to specialize.
The rulers of your 10th house (career) cusp are in the 9th (Saturn, traditional) and 8th houses (Uranus, modern,) respectively. The 9th house deals with overseas travel, suggesting either clothing for travelers or inspiration from far-away places.
Your moon in the 10th house of career suggests a career having to do with women.
Venus is in the 5th house, which rules children and leisure activities generally.
Your sun-Mercury are in the 4th house of "home". This might suggest clothing that people would wear at home, but I also wonder whether you have considered interior design.
Your Mercury is very strong in its own sign of Virgo, and is well-aspected. Are you good with your hands?

Re: What Does My Chart Show More Of An Aptitude For?
Thanks for your suggestions. To answer your question waybread, yes I am good with my hands. I feel idle or antsy if I'm not doing something with them, even if I am actually doing something, like watching a movie. I guess it's nervous energy. So I usually carry whatever knitting or crocheting project I am working on around with me. I also type really fast, braid hair (incidentally, which my mom does also), and I play guitar. As far as interior design goes, I have, in fact, thought about it a lot actually. Instead of fantasizing about my wedding day I've always fantasized about owning my home and how I would decorate it. Or how I would remodel and refashion my current surroundings a.k.a my parent's house, which has never been very aesthetically pleasing to me, and that has segued into me creating dollhouses and decorating their interiors.
