Jupiter & Uranus in 8th Question

I would like some explanation of these two planets in the 8th house please. What they represent and what a person would expect of his-her destiny with these placements in the 8th. Doing a brief research, the interpretation varies of course...for example, in one website it said that Uranus in 8th represents the way you will die (unexpectedly & violently), while Jupiter brings luck and it also represents longevity and a natural death. So both signs in the same house basically oppose each other with the definitions I have found online. Also, some websites claim that the native will gain benefits from a partnerships financially while another website said that Jupiter in 8th only shows emotionalism. Anyways, so I thought that it would be better not to rely to much on those conflicting interpretations and post a detailed 8th house in here for a better and a clearer interpretations from you please

Are these mostly positive or negative aspects for both signs..will there be any financial gains from partnerships or any indication of the type of death a person could have.

Jupiter:
Jupiter in the Eighth House 8th 29'6"
Jupiter in Sagittarius
Jupiter Conjunct Uranus
Sun Square Jupiter
Moon Trine Jupiter
Venus Trine Jupiter
Mars Trine Jupiter
Mercury Sextile Jupiter

Uranus:
Uranus in the Eighth House 8th 58'32"
Uranus in Sagittarius
Jupiter Conjunct Uranus
Sun Square Uranus
Moon Trine Uranus
Venus Trine Uranus
Mars Trine Uranus
Mercury Sextile Uranus

Re: Jupiter & Uranus in 8th Question

Hi. The Jupiter Uranus conjunction looks well integrated with the rest of the chart by aspect, but we can't see form your list how exact the aspects are. Also, with some possible tension being generated in the chart around the Sun's square to the Jupiter Uranus conjuncton, a lot will depend on the sign placements of these three planets.

It looks like you may have Moon, Mars, Venus and Jupiter all in the same element, which means that this element combines with the Sun's element will be significant. Also, which mode (i.e. cardinal fixed or mutable) the square is in. (I'm assuming that the trines and squares occur across signs that are naturally in trine and square).

Also the Sun's house will make a difference to interpreting the square, and lots of other things from the chart as a whole.

The 8th isn't necessarily the easiest house for forthright energies like Jupiter and Uranus, but all the trines and the sextiles will no doubt help. As a general rule I wuld say that Jupiter and Uranus conjunct in the 8th suggest that growth, change and opportunity (whether welcome or not!) will tend to be found in experiences where control is relinquished to another to some extent. This could be through emotional/sexual intimacy, financial or business dealings, some kind of initiation rite, or an encounter with 'the other within'.

Re: Jupiter & Uranus in 8th Question

This overall seems good to me in respect to 8th house individually. The Jupiter Conj Uranus goes well for an optimistic, futuristic & revolutionary thinking. It can deal with the expansion of horizons personally through relationships, education or business. Jupiter is in it's own sign so I believe the qualities would be enhanced & the search for adventure, knowledge & betterment of society should be main themes of your life. Saggitarius can represent a counselling profession in 8th- psychotherapy.

We do need to see the chart to see the overall picture but it seems that except for the Identity challenge Sun-sq-Jupiter that can sway you from the main, the other trines (Moon & Venus especially) will be rewarding in going after your Jupiterian ideal.

Re: Jupiter & Uranus in 8th Question

Oh yes, I didn't notice that the original post stated that the conjunction is in Sagittarius. So the trines in fire and the sextile to Mercury in either Libra or Aquarius (i.e. an air sign) show very good attunement in the chart as a whole to Jupiter and Uranus. So your Sun is probably in a much more sensitive sign than those emphasises by the rest of the chart, (i.e. Virgo or Pisces). I'm still assuming that the aspects you've listed are not 'out of sign' aspects.

So the main issue with the conjunction could be whether the Sun is being allowed to shine in the watery or earthy way it needs to.

If your Sun is in Pisces, there is also the issue of Mercury in Aquarius being in the opposite element to the Sun.

Jupiter is the fiery planet with the most collective orientation, and Uranus is the airy planet with the most collective orientation, so it could be that your need to make a journey into the dark side of life (8th house) is manifested in a more societal context rather than a personal one. But there is still likely to be a parallel personal process, too. But without the whole chart and feedback, its all just speculation.

If I may just add, in the new era of astrological study, it is becoming apparent that we need to provide additional meanings to the houses; many times the interpretations just seem so limited...we need to think outside of the box more and allow for new insights to be considered.

for me, the 8th house holds much more meaning than simply birth, death and taxes...indeed it does involve sharing with others; I believe it represents our psychological orientation and thus the contents of our psyche. Whereas the 4th represents our Soul, and where we have come from, the 8th shows the consequences of our early childhood conditioning...in terms of psychological hang-ups or blockages. In turn the 12th house then shows how we go about attempting to heal and resolve the secretive limitations or handicaps stored within the psyche.

thanks all, for your input

Re: Jupiter & Uranus in 8th Question

Yes there does seem to be something about the water houses - they seem to symbolise experiences which involve reliving things from the past in order to cleanse the soul/psyche/ancestry, etc.

Re: Jupiter & Uranus in 8th Question

Hi LOL. You're young, and with a fiery and Piscean temperament, too, so flitting from thread to thread and from forum to forum is perhaps how you need to do things. But ultimately you'll get a lot more from astrology by engaging in two-way dialogue with astrologers, and also by posting your whole chart.

Re: Jupiter & Uranus in 8th Question

Kimbermoon, you are so right! The houses, like the planets, have different levels of meaning, and meanings that are beyond the old paradigms. And the cookbook stuff just doesn't hold up.

LOL_LOL, I think that Jupiter-Uranus in the 8th would be a dynamite combination for "shedding light" on the deeper mysteries of one's soul -- including hang-ups and blockages. Bring them to light and blast them away. Jupiter-Uranus is an optimistic (if restless) duo, so maybe there is less of a tendency to get mired/stuck in past traumas than is sometimes the case with 8th house planets. Maybe some psychic talent, as well. A potentially very inventive and spiritual combination, making sense of life in a unique and farsighted way. If you can sit still for it, meditation may be just the ticket.
