Inaccurate Ascendant?

Hey all. I'm wondering if there's an alternative method to finding your ascendant other than the time table most astrologers use. According to that method, I'm a Taurus. I used to think that made sense, but the more I uncover in my chart, the less sense the rest of the signs, houses and planets placements make. Any ideas?

Your ascendant can be inaccurate if you have the wrong time of birth, but I expect that Jupiter on your accordant modifies your Ascendant making you much more of a Jupiter personality. Jovial, happy go lucky, lucky (sometimes a gambler), sporty outdoorsy type, likes good food, social and outgoing, and larger then life which is not the normal personality for Ascendant in Taurus. I am also a Taurus Ascendant and I do not feel very much like it either but I feel you grow into your ascendant. Taurus Rising can be stiff and ridged and are stocky, might be involved in building or finances, can put on weight because they love good food.

Your stellium of planets in the 8th House (death, sex, mental health, joint resources, taxes and other people's money. and all things taboo) in Capricorn (money, status, finances (banking, accounting etc..., serious demeanour) would be an overriding influence.
