A Year of Jupiter Transits; the good, the bad and the good
Hi fellow stargazers!
I'm way less efficient in looking ahead at these long term transits than some of you but I did notice that I've a year of important Jupiter transits coming up and I wonder if any of you have gone through them, someone you know etc. Little in the chart will be untouched, it's like Gemini is a magic key in my chart or something. TR Jupiter will sextile my Mercury and MC while leaving Taurus firstly.
Jupiter Transit of Gemini from June 2012
3 degrees - conjunction to natal Mars 11th/12 house, which aspects natal Jupiter, MC
9 degrees - sextile natal Jupiter in 10th of Aries, inconjunct natal Pluto 5th of Scorpio - same aspect natally
11 degrees - sextile North Node in 10th of Aries
16 degrees - square natal Venus in 9th of Pisces
18 degrees - square natal Moon in 3rd of Virgo
21 degrees - opposition natal Saturn 6th of Sagittarius, sextile Sun in 10th of Aries
24 degrees - opposition natal Part of Fortune, which it rules in 6th Sagittarius
26 degrees - opposition natal Uranus 6th of Sagittarius
27 degrees - square natal Mercury in 9th of Pisces
28 degrees - square natal MC, Pisces
So...the sextiles to Mercury and MC, good news, energy, opportunities, particularly vocationally? That is VERY much on the agenda now so I would welcome that.
Conjunction to Mars in 11th/12th (2 systems I use) expansion, optimism both good and overly inflated with regard to my application of energy, drive, ambition? I expect that this is by and large and positive transit? Both generally and because my natal Mars has useful aspects though, peregrine?
The next number of transits are the traditionally challenging aspects, with this I see a double-edged sword; I've finally come to understand that bad can be good and good bad in astrology. These aspects look difficult and I think some will be, but perhaps others add a heavy dose of optimism? What I'm particularly concerned about is 'sobering up after the party' - last year I had my Jupiter/Jupiter conjunction which brought all of the best of Jupiter but Saturn transits followed and money was the hardest hit, not terrible but austere...Saturn when it leaves Libra this time will go on to make trines to much in my chart in time - not oppose and square like last year.
I note that TR Jupiter will form the opposite point of a natal T Square with Saturn, the Moon and Venus, also that Jupiter will oppose the POF of which it rules in the 6th of Sag.
Any comments?
p.s. the place I'm at right now is just graduating from college, I've been applying to many big internships, national ones and with giant companies of huge interest, there has been some positive developments already - I'm shortlisted already for some of them so I've a good chance. So career launch, travel and good money (with hard work) is exactly what I'm aiming for.

Re: A Year of Jupiter Transits; the good, the bad and the good
Does anyone know any good sites on learning more about this? Cafe astro has some good stuff, many others I've said keep indicating probable laziness...but that obviously needs more attention, it can't be a year I just do nothing.

Re: A Year of Jupiter Transits; the good, the bad and the good
From experience, Jupiter transits tend to give you a free reign. They give you confidence, happy joyful times and the cup is always full feeling. They can also be lucky with love and money and general ease of being, making tonnes of friends and liasing with them. Having said that they can be full of hot air if your actions during the time are unrealistic. I say enjoy them while they last cos as soon as saturn hits anything important party is over. My take on Jupiter is have the party, enjoy it, its a reward for something but dont go ott too much, then again you can do what you want but slightly watch it.
ps opportunities are a sign of jupiter transits, if career related try seize them, if love related probably too good to be true
you are called byjove LOL you can probably ask jove direct he he
last point, jupiter is traditional ruler of pisces, i think his transits have a spiritual note too, all good though

Re: A Year of Jupiter Transits; the good, the bad and the good
Thanks for your insight Emma, I always appreciate the experience of others.
I know what you mean about enjoying the party, last year it passed through my 10th house, only trouble was that it was followed by a Saturn opposition to the same house. Money eventually became tight but not horrific I suppose. I don't have Saturn to worry about this time around, so more partying I hope. I took a look at each planet that would be transited and there are so many and so there will be constant action, I'm just not so sure of what kind!

Re: A Year of Jupiter Transits; the good, the bad and the good
Jupiter is in Detriment in Gemini. From my experience, Jupiter in this condition does not give great results, particularly in the affairs it naturally governs such as higher education.
In 2001 during my 11th grade year in High School, transit Jupiter was in Gemini in my 9th House and later 10th House. I was attending a charter high school located on a college campus. Along with my high school classes, I took college level courses also.
During Jupiter's stay in Gemini, I slacked off in my studies. My grades dropped. I did not pass English (it was college level) and had to take it again over the summer so I could go into my Senior year. I also did not pass one of my electives. I missed a lot of days that semester and was not turning in assignments. For the elective, I missed the final exam. I began Calculus II (college level) over the summer, and I got an F on first test. On History 201, I didn't finish my first test since time ran out (due to coming in late). In that same class, I got a D on the final exam, and ended up with a C in the course (which has always been rare).
The drop in academic performance occurred when Jupiter transited from 6 degrees to 20 degrees Gemini where it crossed the North Node, opposed Uranus, sextiled the Moon, and conjoined the Midheaven, so some of these transits you will be experiencing are similar to the ones I got back then, these are issues to look out for.
Before this, I was making A's and B's and carrying over a 4.0 GPA. That semester was the first one in which I got below a 3.0 GPA, and my overall cumulative GPA ended up going below 4.0.

I'm sorry to hear that you had a rough time with Jupiter transits. Was there anything else going on in your chart which backed up the time of 'slacking off' of disappointment?
During the last year, I've worked the hardest (academically) of my life as I finished my final college year. All during the year, I scored very high (1st marks) and in my final exams, my marks were 20% lower typically. I was devastated. Overall, it's still a good final result but just a fraction of what I've been consistently achieving all year.
In a way there's a whole lot more to the Jupiter transits I'm going through, though I can't find the thread I created on it. Basically, I've transiting Uranus conjuncting my natal Jupiter, transiting Pluto square my natal Jupiter and transiting Pluto square my natal Neptune, which rules all my Pisces planets. My career has not taken off straight out of college as I hoped. But after some time of reflection, I'm now planning to move abroad. All I know is nothing's happening here and things will not take off for me here so I have to go find my success, it is not coming to me!

Transiting Uranus conjunct Jupiter is very fortunate for unexpected money coming your way. This tidbit is coming directly from a consultation I had from Robert Hand. That's exactly what happened too, I got a $22,000 make up bonus I had no idea I was getting.
The other thing to look at is Jupiter's natal aspects. Usually transits are more strongly felt when the same two planets are aspected natally. This is not to say they won't be felt either way because they will be. The other thing, typically when T Jupiter is aspecting planets there is usually other transiting aspects going on at the same time. Jupiter by itself is not all that strong. The more a planet is aspected the more likely to create something significant.

I have found that if a given Jupiter transit does not seem to be producing expected benefits, then your chart may be getting highly afflicted by other simultaneously occurring planetary transits at that given time. If this is the case, Jupiter will mainly be giving you a break or soften things (if Jupiter is aspecting the afflicting transiting planet).
I looked at my precessed Lunar Returns and the precessed Solar Return for that time period when I slacked off, and from what I found, it was the other transits occurring along with Jupiter.
The slacking cycle began early April. That month, I had angular Neptune. It was sextile an angular stellium of Sun, Moon, and Venus. By transit, Neptune was in a stationary square to my Sun in the 9th House (higher education).
I was experiencing Jupiter transit in 3rd House from my Moon, and according to Vedic astrology, this Jupiter transit generally isn't considered good, so I put Jupiter as the culprit initially, but in the precessed Lunar Return in the month when the slacking off began, it was sitting in the background.
The month when I finished classes and got my grades and found that I did not pass English as well as an elective, I had an angular Saturn square Uranus in the precessed Lunar Return for that month. Uranus by transit was stationary square my Mars, and Saturn was conjunct my Chiron. Additionally, that same month, I went through some kind of "brain dead phase" where my trolling on various message boards (I was bit of a troll back in my high school years until my senior year) came to a climax. Mars rules and is in my 3rd House of communications. I had also thought that this phase was from the Jupiter transit, but according to Lunar Return chart, it didn't seem to be.
During the month when I began my summer courses, I had angular Neptune sextile Moon and an angular Sun/Saturn conjunction in precessed Lunar Return. Neptune by transit was still square my Sun. I failed my first Calculus II test and I missed my first American History test.
In my Vedic chart, I had been running Ketu/Mars. Once I changed to the Rahu sub-period that summer, my academic performance began improving again. So, I was not running the main period, sub-period, nor minor period of Jupiter.
My precessed Solar Return for 2001 had angular Neptune square Sun, angular nodes (Rahu/Ketu), and angular Moon. Jupiter was in the background.
From this analysis, Neptune square Sun seemed to play a big part here (my Sun is also within a degree of the natal Rahu/Ketu axis) along with Uranus square Mars (I was running sub-period Mars).
Neptune transits can be associated with lack of drive and escapism, and Uranus transits can be associated with impulsive behavior and disruption.
There was only one month in 2001 while Jupiter was in Gemini that I had angular Jupiter in my precessed Lunar Return, and I got a new computer that month which I built myself.

Re: A Year of Jupiter Transits; the good, the bad and the good
Well, I confirm that much of the Jupiter transits so far have been mild at best. A few days ago, one was *extremely* significant. TR Jupiter is now in the middle of Gemini and it conjoined my natal Chrion, opposed my natal Saturn, square my natal Venus and Moon (grand square) and TR Venus conjoined my natal Moon. It was a horrific day for love, shock, horror, lies, deception and a sharp exit (the other person revealed details and left). Yikes! Jupiter not so good in Gemini, for sure!
I look forward to TR Uranus accelerating to my natal Jupiter later on though!
