Travel disaster: will i get visa in time?
This is a very long story and I'll try to be concise. I have a very meticulous travel schedule planned for a research trip and am in phase 2 of the trip. This involved a flight last week back to the USA, appearance at the Consulate the next morning to give in documents and fat payment for rush visa processing, and a pickup the day of my flight back to the country of research.
When I arrived at Consulate they said another agency now handles processing. I went there and was given the run-around, including a list of strange requests that are/were not on the website etc etc. Now it is down to the wire, I cannot obtain the original document overnight from across the world that they supposedly require and if I do not have the visa by this Thurs I cannot get on my flight back to that country. Which means I would have to buy another flight, find a hotel to stay in for (a month?) and I dont have money to cover all of that. It is one hellish disaster.
Bc of jetlag I sleep only 4 hrs per night and I will have to get up at 1a.m to phone the other country tonight to try to beg them to be proactive and responsive to the requests I sent at the end of last week.
My question is, *will I get the visa in time*, ie by Thursday this week?
I am not quite sure how to read a chart like this bc have never had a situation like this in 9 years of international travel and these visa processes. This is the first time it has been a disaster.
In addition to the answer to the horary question, I would like help figuring out the significators. I have read that 9th is foreign country, 3rd is visa itself, 10th is authorities. However 7th is always the "other party".
In this case, the Consulate is now outsourcing the visa processing. So whereas for 8 yrs I have gone in person with my packet of documents+fees, now i go to this other "company" and they say the Consulate wants this and that. Therefore I'm not sure if I can use 9th or 10th house for this...
[I should note that one time in those 8 yrs I arrived w/o one document because the girl at the office who was supposed to provide it gave me the wrong one (This was also when the rules were difft and you could go to any European country, not just country of citizenship to obtain the visa, so i went on a short train ride, not a 17 hr flight). But a phonecall from the office/company to the Consulate was enough to assure thenm the original was coming shortly and please process as initially planned. No problem, everything on time as usual. Altho it is slim, i am PRAYING that might happen this time...altho i have no one 'to bat' for me now and a lot is at stake.]
