Re: western/vedic astrology
western uses tropical, indian uses sidereal. I find tropical much more accurate. You can use VEDIC astrology, with tropical...

Re: western/vedic astrology
Reason for this is that the Western model (traditionalist and Modernist western) use the tropical zodiac of signs, rather than the sidereal zodiac of constellations, as the basis of the chart and the placement of the planets. The signs are always the same they always represent the same segment of the Path of the Sun (the ecliptic) as they have always done; the constellations, however, move along this same Path at a rate (71.6 seconds of arc per year) due to the astrophysical phenomenon known as "precession": hence sidereal astrology uses a time correction to give the correct place of the constellations along the ecliptic Path, for a given year: the Western or tropical zodiac, does not do this because it is the portion of the ecliptic Path called a "sign" which matters for tropicalists, not the place of a constellation. In Vedic astrology there has ALWAYS been a portion of jyotisha who have (and still do) follow the TROPICAL zodiac of SIGNS: these Vedic practitioners who use the tropical zodiac but delineate using Vedic considerations and methodologies, were (and are) known as followers of the sayana system (the great majority of Vedic practitioners follow the sidereal or nirayana system); in my own eclectic approach, when applying Vedic concepts and methods/technqiues, I follow the tropical (Western) zodiac and therefore I follow the sayana school of though regarding this matter...

Re: western/vedic astrology
Western astrology highlight the emotional aspects of an individual. But it cannot predict future cycle and events. But Vedic astrology can predict future while highlighting emotional aspects of a person.
