Hi, Aly007,
The Moon's North Node refers to what we are called to learn in this life, while the South Node symbolizes what we bring into this life, be it from past lives or our genetic inheritance. When you both have NN in the same sign, it means that you will need to learn the same kinds of things, in this case, Geminian things. But the natal house placements will determine the arena in life in which the lessons will have to be learned. In the 12th, it could be possibly be around sacrifice, surrender to a higher power, learning to be by yourself. In the 7th, the calling will be around relatedness with others.
Planets on the SN make it more challenging for us to move towards and find balance with our life's calling; with Mars, you may more strongly assert the deeply ingrained patterns [SN] that you bring into this life. It may hold you back from your NN until you reach greater maturity and come to understand better how Mars works in your life. We don't usually step into our NN until later in life anyway. We are just always called to it, to find balance in this life with what we innately already know [SN].
One person's Chiron on another person's NN points either to wounding or helping him or her heal. It may also refer to doing both. So one must be attentive to taking care not to wound.
The same with Saturn to another's Asc. One may teach the other and there is certainly a very strong connection. But one may also be perceived or may actually be critical, judgmental, obstructive. So those are important attributes to be looking for so you don't hurt each other's feelings, make the other feel less than good about himself.
