Why Won't Anybody Hire Me?

I graduated with an engineering degree in 2010.

I have since worked at internships and at Target. I've been rejected from every job I've ever applied to. My most recent stint was a second interview that ended in a "job offer". Said she needed to run the numbers and then she'd give me an answer. That was Wednesday. Now she's dodging my emails and I guess it's back to square one.

Every time I get a rejection they are all so cold and vague. I am so frustrated and alone. I want to give up on everything. There isnt' even a hole for me to crawl into.

Please someone read my chart and tell me what I should be doing. I am so desperate for anything good to happen in my life. I am desperate. I currently live out of my car. Please someone read my chart and help me.

Re: Why Won't Anybody Hire Me?

None of my internships would hire me. I just keep drifting. I am so miserable. Please someone respond. I can't even have a social life because I am so worthless.

Re: Why Won't Anybody Hire Me?

Awh, please dont be miserable. Obviously you know that it is a difficult time for everyone and that people with more experience will be, inevitably, stronger candidates etc. Dont take it personally. Stay positive. Are you sure you are coming across as capable and extremely confident in your CV? Your natal chart shows that you are probably an excellent candidate: thorough, go-getter. Though, you look a tad emotional. Are you sure you're not coming across as emotional (flaky; aggressive) in these interviews? The strongest tool you have at your disposal (apart from your qualifications) is to truly believe that you WILL get the job and go in believing you are boss when you walk in. I understand it is a super hard time for you, but you must stand out from the crowd and wow them. Is there a chance you are giving off the vibe that your confidence in getting the job is low? "You never get a second chance to make a first impression" If you'd like me to inbox you some ideas on the non-astrological front, let me know. Praying for you. Please stay calm, happy and positive. Much love xxx

Re: Why Won't Anybody Hire Me?

Mercury in fall and squared by Chiron seems to be problem.
Also Venus detrimental squared by Chiron.

Chart is near cusp, Mercury or Venus is 10th ruler.

Keep agate pebbles with you. If friends are source of problem, avoid them for some time. Chiron can cause problems through friends.

Re: Why Won't Anybody Hire Me?

I am so sorry I am going through what you are going through.

Mercury is in fall (and is ruler of the tenth). Strengthen mercury. Perhaps buying an emerald (they're not too expensive if you get it with a silver ring around 30-40 dollars). Lighting green candles and saying mantras for mercury. Finding stones that appeal to mercury and wearing them while chanting mantras (can be found online, vedic are good). I know it sounds weird but it does work (helped me with my weak mars).

Buying how to win friends and influence people will help as well. Speaking louder and altering how you come across will help.

Right now your emotions are affecting your period (understandably)...

You are under your Venus dasa/ Since January 2001. It is in your 8th house in Aries. Both are not good. You should strengthen Venus as well later...has life been overall bad/hard for you since 2001? If so, then a Venus remedy is necessary as you will be in it for 10 more years.

Sub set is Jupiter in 10th. It is good for career. Your moon is negatively affecting Jupiter saying your mind is holding you back from communicating now. Communicating/networking now will get you a job. I know it is hard but this is the best time to do so. This good time will last till 2014. You need to support your emotions (talking things through, wearing silver, drawing down lunar energy, whatever) in order to benefit. The only thing stopping you today is your feeling of let down (again it is understandable).

Good luck I really am sending you positivity.

Re: Why Won't Anybody Hire Me?

it is because ruler of 10th (venus) is in bad house also in aries and combust too. mercury(ruler of 2nd) in 8th too.
jupiter-mars conjunction shall help because they are placed in 10th also sextile 2nd house ruler

Re: Why Won't Anybody Hire Me?

If you look hard enough, you can always find things in a chart to provide the answers for you, based on what 'goggles' you're wearing. there's nothing wrong with your chart. i see a pretty solid set up for engineering.

i am in a similar situation (not engineering though), and it's tough to 'get in' these days. the economy is such that employers can afford to be really picky, and also be really careless with their employees, or with people who are applying for positions. i have encountered great rudeness and nonsense in my search for employment. i applied for an office job once, opening the mail and answering the telephone. i got a rejection phone call and they told me i wasn't qualified for the job because i didn't have an MBA. i have a bachelors degree in journalism, but apparently that is not sufficient to open the mail. It is silliness, and it isn't personal, even if it feels to us that way.

however, just keep on trucking. the tables will turn for you, i'm sure.

the hardest part is being positive about it, and staying that way. 'fake it til you make it'. good luck to you.

Re: Why Won't Anybody Hire Me?

I agree with bitter moon (and I'm in the exact same position but in marketing, not engineering or journalism). I actually went into the HQs of two big corps that sent rejection emails to me, just to get some face time and ask honestly what their feedback was - like you said, Spacefruit, the rejections are vague.

One hiring manager was really helpful and explained why they went with a more qualified applicant and she offered to help me if I see another opening with them. However the second company's HR person was ridiculous...close-minded, unprofessional and devoid of the very creativity that this company PRIDES itself on!

I'm sorry you're living out of your car, Spacefruit. Do you have any family or friends who can help you out until you get back on your feet? Don't be embarrassed to ask, people can be very understanding in these times. And the ones who aren't ARE WRONG. They won't succeed by dodging emails, treating good people rudely and demanding outrageous skills/degrees. They're only ahead for now.

Hope that helps a little!

Re: Why Won't Anybody Hire Me?

Spacefruit sorry I didn't read you were living out of your car. In March 24 you entered your Jupiter dasa in the tenth. This will give you a job. Your moon is aspecting Jupiter badly though so your EMOTIONS/MOOD will cause issues. Meditate on the moon. Imagine silver energy enveloping you. I know your situation is bad, but please support them and go out and apply and call and you WILL get a job. You entered a good period. Now believe it.

No ... I had a hard time with my friends and have outgrown them. I am in the process of trying new things so I really don't have a solid circle / group right now.

Thank you.

I don't believe that I come across as emotional during interviews. I could do more for background preparation, but my composure is always collected. I don't stall and the conversation flows. Follow through is hard for me, though.

Thanks. I am not sure about this because I have been looking for full time, permanent work since spring 2010. People who have graduated class of 2011 have been able to obtain this, but not me...

Thank you for your words and empathy. Perhaps they are looking for someone who is ready to work their way up through the mailroom to some task(s) that requires a business degree. On the flip side, I've read horror stories of those with the expensive extra degree also being rejected. It seems everyone is in a sorry state. (Well, not everyone but ...)

That is brave of you, BeckyG. I tend to stick to modest communication especially post-interview; I am afraid of being remembered for the wrong reason especially since getting so much as a post-application acknowledgement is so hard for me.

Thank you. Living out of my car has been freeing and more relaxing than when I was struggling to make ends meet in a studio apartment where I did not feel respected or safe. I feel that my money finally goes towards benefiting me and not some dishonest landlord. Sometimes I get tired of it, like the day that I made this thread, but most days I am relieved to have one less thing to worry about. Actually, a lot less. I hated my old place and can't stand living with others as it always seems to be on their terms. It's an easy way to get on if you have a cheap gym membership, some access to work after hours, a modest storage unit and a P.O. box.

I don't know what you mean by "meditate on the moon" ... do you mean concentrate on it? Think of it?

I am not sure about the tides having changed recently but I will check the job boards and some professional resources for help and postings.

Thanks everyone for your responses.

Re: Why Won't Anybody Hire Me?

She was supposed to get back to me a week ago.

Then I called yesterday and she said I'd get an answer today.

Now it is almost 7 and I still haven't heard back.

Even the mall jobs are ridiculously picky. I try and try and try, and now I can't even land the most basic positions.

I can't believe there is still no answer. I can't believe all the time and hope that I wasted on that position. I want to move back home and just give up.

Everything came together for everyone except me.

Re: Why Won't Anybody Hire Me?

Im in the exact same position as u are.And if u look at my chart it is completley differant than yours. You probably feel that every time u try and make a move something gets in the way.The reason y the companies dont get back to you is because of the volume of people that applies for the job.20 years ago 1 job might of had about a few people apply but now they literely get 100s i know this because my friend works recruitments and her inbox gets filled everytime a new job opening happens. It might be some comfort to u that alot of people are going through this

What branch(es) of Engineering are you qualified in?
What are your thoughts on Mercury in Pisces?

A friend of mine is a Civil Engineer, she always says please and thank you.

Re: Why Won't Anybody Hire Me?

Have you considered doing some relocation charts to see if there is a spot that might be more productive for you in the career area? I once had an AstroCartography chart done when I was looking for a new job. But none of the "hot-spots" on the map were in the US so I never followed through on it.

Here's a link that you might be interested in looking at.

I don't get it. I change my birthplace to where I am now?

How will that change the chart? I'm in the same state I was born in.

How do I get "hot spots" if it won't let me proceed w/o entering a place?

Re: Why Won't Anybody Hire Me?

I am so sorry for you, but good for you for having such a great attitude and making the best of your living situation. That takes a lot of grit to do!

There has been and still is quite a few challenging transits coming from Uranus and Pluto to your Sun/Venus and Saturn, Uranus and Neptune. Uranus and Saturn are just about the harshest planets to deal with, one rips the rug out from under you and the other throws it away forever. I lost my job in 2009 and subsequently everything I ever worked for. I had Uranus, Saturn and Pluto hitting all 4 of my angles and later, both my Sun and Moon. Just last week after 3 years of unemployment, I finally got and offer. I know how it feels to want to give up, but you can't. You can fall a part later but right now you have to keep plugging along and ignore all the rude and insensitive people in the world who don't give a rats behind about you. I understand to not be able to get a minimum wage job when I was used to making 6 figures. They don't want you because you are a risk to leave when something better comes along. Why invest the time in training when you will probably leave?

Transit wise, in May(mid) transiting Jupiter will move over your MC and into your 10th house. Soon after it will conjunct natal Mars. In addition, Transiting Uranus will Sextile natal Mars late May into June, May/June could be a time where you find something. Hang in there!
