Neptune in the 5th house-whole signs

I am curious to hear from people who have this position, using whole signs.

I could post an entire description by Liz Greene but it would be too long.

Basically some common themes would be: sacrificing artistic expression for more practical pursuits, or sacrificing all else for artistic pursuit, a tendency to fall in love with unattainable people, seeing children as requiring a lot of sacrifice, idealizing children, having Neptunian children, channelling all hopes into children, feeling redeemed through art of children, talent in drama etc.
If you can think of anything else, let me know.

Here is part of a description given by Bill Herbst, which really hit the nail on the head for me:

"Your early conditioning did not prepare you for the burden of standing on your own.
You may have a lingering guilt that you have somehow been disloyal to your family.
This is utter nonsense, which you use to justify your refusal to develop your latent potential and acquire the independence to stand alone. If you believe in yourself, the possibilities open to you are beyond your wildest imagination, but only hard work will yield results. You will succeed when you know you can."

I can really relate to the last quote in your message.
I have pisces on the 5th H cusp. I have saturn conj chiron in it.
So that quote really describes how i feel about a lot of issues relating to this house.

I personally don't have it but I recently saw this on a client's chart with an adopted child. (Neptunian). There is immense amount of artistic talent in this position but possibly the area is deluded itself.

My Neptune is in 5th in both Placidus and Whole Signs... and this description really does suit me, nearly to a T!

I will also say that this placement can swing either way; Neptune is related to drugs, alcohol, co-dependance in relationships, delusions, lies, etc............ but also, on the flip side of the spectrum, it can also represent spirituality, the unconscious, subtle realms, deep unconditional love and the like.

It has been said that someone with this placement could become involved in one or more soul-mate relationships of a higher order in this lifetime.

Looking back over my relationships, when I was younger I did attract mostly the drug-addict types of men in my life, who were deceptive and non-committal.

Yet, as I grew and evolved more, I began attracting extremely spiritual men............ and to this day, that is the only type of man I will date. Highly spiritual, loving, gentle and aware of himself.. someone who unconditionally accepts himself and encourages that in another.

Just as every sign and planet has a negative and positive.... this Neptune placement can, also, be very positive once you evolve to that state of being.

Re: Neptune in the 5th house-whole signs

Neptune in the 5th here too (doesn't seem to matter which house system I use), mine in Scorpio opposite Venus XI Taurus. That seems to be the only major Ptolemaic aspect Neptune makes to any of my other planets.

It's a mixed blessing. On the one hand, I am devoted to my art, and any woman I date has to know that at best she shares me with the Muse (not a lot of women around these parts are necessarily appetized by that prospect, but at least they're honest about it). And while I dabble with the milder stuff here and there, I've never been addicted to any chemical; I don't think that's in me at core.

On the other hand, romantically I've tended to see certain behavior patterns in others that cause me to delude myself into seeing things that aren't there, or else extrapolate into a possible future that isn't coming. From time to time, I have developed wild crushes on unavailable women. And I'm told I have a flair for the dramatic (artistically, not personally).
