Just got laid off and 30th birthday all in one!

Hello... I was hoping someone could provide me SOME insight with respect to my current transits and progressions. I am turning 30 on Friday and was laid off from my job last Friday. I was not very happy in my job so I am not super upset but I am anxious about finding something that really makes me tick.

Your chart is very similar to mine, I have venus on my ascendent square saturn but I have mars in the first instead of mercury, I have jupitor trine my moon instead of my sun but my sun is conjunt jupitor and trine my moon.

Transiting saturn is retrograding in my 8th house (my pluto is 4 degrees scorpio so saturn is out of sign conjunting my pluto) has actually caused me to get more money for some reason in the form of a job, probably because I havent been doing much to get money for a while now. This transit depends on how you have been using your pluto and my world is getting turned upside down because of this.

Ill post my chart so you see what im talking about.

Hmmm so what you're saying is that I will be affected in the opposite way that I have been using my energy recently? To be honest I took a pay cut to take this job in July and have 5 weeks severance (not great, but I have savings). Perhaps I'll end up with something that pays me closer to what I was earning previously and also more fulfilling (trying to be optimistic!).

Saturn tends to uproot major problems when it conjunts planets, not nessesarily go the opposite way you have been using them. If theres nothing really "wrong" with what you have been doing then there may not be a huge difference other then the normal maturing cycle. Saturn conj pluto tranits I have read means that a way of life has ended and you may have to take a new path now.

I am also going through transiting pluto conjunct my sun on top of this.

I see the new path thing. I really feel like I have not been happy with what I've been doing for a while now (since I took the last position 9 months ago). In general I'd like to be in an environment that is a little more creative or free than banking. It's a struggle for me to fit into the banking persona mold daily, to be honest.

Haha I tend to make light of things - not a doom or gloom person. Perfection in a few weeks? So are you saying this looks like a temporary hiccup and I'll be A-OK in a few weeks? I am hoping I have this all sorted out by April!

well, i'm speaking of Solar Returns.
sun moves thru SR chart and the planets it aspects in the SR chart during its course will get lit up ~ same principle of transiting sun through a natal chart. SR sun is pisces and aries follows and uranus is in liw aries, so figure any shake up's will lessen after perfection. uranus knocks people out of the dulldrums and sounds like that's what is going on. i haven't seen natal chart (can't read thumbnail) but trans uranus might be hitting natal planet or angle in your chart as well. nonetheless ~ SR sun in close proximity to SR uranus could start your year off with unexpected disturbances, whether bad or good. uranus likes to kick up dust.

Right now transiting Uranus is trining your natal Uranus in the 10th house of career and at the same time sextiling your 6th house ruler Moon. Also, your progressed Moon is in your 6th house which could also aid you in your search. I am not really seeing why you lost your job, I suspect the decision was made quite a few months ago and they acted on it now. Right this moment you should be very active in your search because these planets will be moving on until the end of the year when they aspect these same planets again for a final time. If not now, I don't see much luck with your career search until later in the year because there isn't much else going on. If not a job, perhaps finding temporary work with a temp agency would be a good idea.

It was kind of mutual - I was a consultant on a project through my company that I am still employed full time through (I have 2 weeks to find another project and then if not get 3 weeks severance pay). I was not happy with the position and it really was beneath me from a skill standpoint. To my own detriment, I definitely voiced wanting a bigger challenge, etc., so when I had my meeting with my manager off-site I kind of let her know what was going on and she asked me if I wanted to be pulled from the project. I told her I would prefer to stick it out for a year (looks better on paper). I almost suspect that she was the reason I was let go and she pulled me so that it would be better for the account. Which *****, but is a blessing in disguise. I went from managing a group of 4 people to being the lowest man on the totem pole and I was REALLY REALLY REALLY bored and I seriously felt like I could do my boss' job (because I was and she was just using my info and taking credit for my work). I am very active in looking and I'm an aggressive go-getter kind of person so I am not TOO concerned, but now that you are pointing out potential issues the flame under my @ss is lit even higher. I kind of want to do something more creative, but I also want to get back to where I was compensation-wise. I took a $20K pay cut to get this experience under my belt so maybe it was just time to move on and get back to where I want to be. Not sure but I'm being optimistic and I'm not a wallower so I don't think I'll be laid off for very long. Not sure what Saturn is trying to teach me here.. that my career is all wrong for me? Or maybe money shouldn't be my motivator.. or that maybe I thrive in a situation where I have to hustle for my money rather than sitting back and getting a paycheck. Have to figure this all out!

Okay...of course I look at Saturn transiting at the top of your chart. It just passed my Midheaven. When it was where yours is now, for me, I was getting more and more ready to resign from a position. Remember, Saturn clears out anything that is not for the health of our personal growth. With your 30th just around the corner, I think this is just a period of maturity approaching. Not just because it's "30" but b/c it's a birthday....one more year to add to your growth.

With Saturn playing host to my Midheaven (before and after crossing it exactly) I found myself really cotemplative about my work and income...all without knowing what my next step would be. In fact, I'm still there!!! I ended up resigning to really find what I needed to do for myself. I think Saturn teaches preparation, but just one step a time. Anytime Saturn has been involved, the lessons are bit by bit and stretch themselves out for a while.

Like you, I was contemplative about my role as well. I had entertained ideas of taking other positions with different firms, etc., but I thought I'd try and stick it out even though I was quite miserable. I really hope I figure this all out soon. I think Saturn is trying to tell me that I need to be challenged in order to feel fulfilled.. and I was not challenged at all. I don't think I'm happy just collecting a paycheck.

Also, perhaps that the grass isn't always greener. The company I worked for was a global monster in finance and the best analogy to explain how I felt about it as a company is... it's like being at a bar and being drunk, meeting a hot model and waking up in the morning and her hair and makeup are all over the pillow and you look at her and you think, "oh my.. what is this? mistake."

Yep. That's exactly how I was before I made my decision. Lots of depression, agitation, annoyance about "collecting a check". My soul was literally NOT happy. The job, on the outside, was great...excellent company, great pay, standard benefits, fit to what my skills were...but the set-up was toxic. Maybe not for someone else but for me it was. So I let it go.

Saturn is teaching me I could have been better prepared. But I've also been shown I can trust myself. I'm not gonna lie...it's been a hard road. But I sense things are on an upswing. I am beginning to see a peek of the light.

Can you please share with the rest of us, what is suicidal about her chart? I respect the opinion but am curious to know what aspects you are looking at? It would be good information for all involved in this thread.

I'm still alive and haven't killed myself yet. Could someone please shed some light on the suicidal aspect? Sure I am frustrated, but I am not the suicidal type (sorry, I am not weak). I'm still looking and luckily have set myself up financially well enough that I have had the luxury to be selective and have also been doing some soul searching as to what I actually want to do and what actually would make me happy. I was wondering if anyone has any other updates they could give me or career advice. Perhaps I should post another transit chart in another thread? I am getting frustrated, but I think it's more of a realization that I really have no friggen clue what would make me happy at this point now. A few months ago I would have taken the job that paid me the most.. I think Saturn is torturing me to teach me that money doesn't equal happiness.
