Rare synastry

I have been told by some experienced astrologers that I have a rare synastry relation although I haven't been told much beyond that. However, and to be honest, this whole thing makes me wonder about astrology altogether. In the attached synastry chart one can note the following "significant" aspects:

Sun = Sun/Moon mp exactly
Moon = Asc/MC mp exactly
Sun = NN in the 7th exactly
(the aforementioned aspects complete a grand trine)
Juno = Asc/MC mp
Moon = SN
Vertex/Dsc = IC
Asc-Dc axis = MC-IC axis
both Venuses in 7th
both Moons in 11th

Anyway, this is all supposed to be hefty linkage as far as astrology goes - SO - why is this the overlay between me and my ex-sister-in-law?

Re: Rare synastry

Hi. Its not so unusual to find this kind of synastry because significant degrees and signs run through generations. Your partner's sister (or your brother's partner) would have connections to your chart by virtue of the fact that two of the three charts concerned are of siblings, and one of those charts has enough synastry to prompt to people to marry. In other words, when two people get together they will have a certain amount of synastry ties, and siblings do too, so all three of you would share certain degree areas.

Having said that, I guess some inlaw relationships are very benign and others are intense in one way or another. The very fact that you bothered to look at the synastry between your sister in law and yourself suggests that something about this inlaw relationship got under your skin in some way. Your feelings about her and how you deal with them, if this is the case, could perhaps be potentially very transformative.

One way to approach any such tension and potential for growth on your part would be simply to look at which parts of your chart are most strongly triggered by her chart. Then you can look at the positive and negative potentials of these parts of your chart as a way to more honestly perceive your projections, behaviour and motives around this person. Not sure this is quite what you were asking, but anyway...

Re: Rare synastry

The problem is NOT with astrology generally . . . . I believe that the issue is with the validity of 'synastry' charts .
The greatest insight (my opinion) will be produced by placing your birth chart on 'an inner wheel' and on the other wheel place the other chart . . .
and then see what energetics present themselves . . . . squares and oppositions will provide the greatest insight .
you can download (Windows 32 bit) a limited free astrology program that will allow you to do what I suggest . . .

I believe that 'synastry' charts may provide 'intuitive insight' but , beyond that , are without significant value .

Best Regards ,
Ion

Re: Rare synastry

Miquar,
I appreciate your response. I will say however that I differ from your point of view with what I have seen in my experience with chart overlays....meaning this overlay IS unusual as far as what one can gleen from astrological writing considering that the way it stacks up...

Having said all that...

You commented:

"The very fact that you bothered to look at the synastry between your sister in law and yourself suggests that something about this inlaw relationship got under your skin in some way. Your feelings about her and how you deal with them,..."

Huh? Why do you assume this? I have looked at every family, friend, co-worker relation that I have birth info on to explore an understanding about astrology spanning many years. This overlay was one in so many and inconsequential as far as an 'under my skin' inquiry goes.

"One way to approach any such tension and potential for growth on your part would be simply to look at which parts of your chart are most strongly triggered by her chart. Then you can look at the positive and negative potentials of these parts of your chart as a way to more honestly perceive your projections, behaviour and motives around this person."

What? tension? "...to more honestly perceive 'projections', 'behaviors', 'motives"? What are you getting at? After 17 years I can assure you I am not projecting anything. Jeez...

Oh whatever and so much for astrology and this inquiry altogether.

If you actually look at the chart I provided you'll see I did just what you suggested...
