Fluff or deep stuff?

I've had an on-going "thing" with one of my friends for the past two years, and I'm falling deeper and deeper in love with him, however we're not together. If he gets a little distant, I get upset. If I get a little distant, he gets upset. I've told him that I was interested in him but he keeps telling me he's "not looking for anything". However, when we're together, he strongly displays his Venus in Virgo traits... always fussing over me and doing things that shows how much he cares about me. I'm getting mixed signals from him. Maybe it's due to our mercury square mercury, or maybe he doesn't feel as strongly about me as I do about him. Or maybe he thinks that I'm sending mixed signals. Help!!

I'm attaching pictures of our synastry and our individual natal charts. I'm having trouble sorting through it all... it looks like there are some really awesome things going on, especially with sun/moon midpoint and venus/mars midpoint, but maybe that doesn't matter? Any insight would be greatly appreciated!!

As a side note - his Ascendant could be a little off... he knows he was born around 3 in the morning but doesn't know the exact time! It could've been 2:30 or even 3:30, but I settled for 3.
