According to
Yahoo news, Putin's 'stranglehold' on Russian politics may be waning. He used to be President of Russia, he is now Prime Minister but in recent elections his party lost a significant amount of votes.
I never looked at his chart before but found it amazing to see the Pluto/Lilith/South node tight conjunction at his Leo MC.

Those immediately jump out at me describing the nature of his career, almost secretive, underground, but with the South Node there I wonder if this is to do with past karma? His lessons to learn through his career. Perhaps with a North Node at the IC in Aquarius, he needs to learn to be more for the people, and not so much for the power. Lol, try telling any well established politian that. He also has Jupiter from the 7th square that Pluto/Lilith/node/MC. He may be a bit arrogant with his power, and believe his way is the only way taking a moral high ground. Its also said to be a 'success' aspect. Mars is also in trine to those from the 2nd house, it looks like he is power and money motivated and it's moral or philosophical for him, being in Sagittarius.
Interesting Mercury conjunct Neptune/Saturn in the 12th house in sextile with MC. Again hints at secrets involved with his career, and he is not afraid to speak his mind. He may know a thousand secrets with Mercury in the 12th sextile Pluto/Lilith, and he will probably keep them too.
Whether he is loosing his power, I'm not sure how to tell. I do love how the progressions sum up his time in Russian presidency. According to
Wiki, he became acting president in 1999, just as his progressed Sun opposed natal Moon. I'll look at the eclipses prior to that when I have a bit more time, but I bet they correspond with the progression aspect. This is supposed to be a high point in the life. He won the 2000 presidential election. In 2004, he was re-elected for a second term, just as progressed Moon opposed natal Sun. I love progressions!
But, that does mean that Moon and Sun progressions are now waning, could that relate to his power over Russia now?
In 2014, he goes through Pluto squaring his natal Sun, Sun rules his MC. At the same time, transiting Saturn squares his MC/Pluto. It looks like the structures start to crumble then. Acctually realised, his Sun is involved in the Uranus square Pluto transit - Uranus opposite Sun, Pluto squares Sun. Interesting, part of the major societal change coming up is his step down from power!
