Newbie - couple of questions

Hi guys

I don't know much about astrology, but I'm trying to learn. I have a couple of questions.

The time of birth on my birth certificate is 9:30 pm. The day I was born the clocks were adjusted one hour forward (daylight savings time in my country). Does this mean that the "real" time of my birth would be 8:30 pm? Or should I use the time as it is recorded on the birth certificate?

Is there anything in my chart that could help me understand and get some insight into my ongoing problems with anxiety, depression, social phobia, etc.? I often wonder why I find it so hard to cope with life in general, and why I struggle with things other people find easy and routine. Does my chart suggest any hope that I will manage to overcome these issues and live a normal life?

Re: Newbie - couple of questions

Hi.

I think (not certain) the chart maker on astro.com accounts for daylight saving.

And about your anxiety, I would imagine the mercury moon square was a significant component of that.

Moon (emotions) Mercury (thinking) square = difficult relationship.

Saturn on the moon can hold one back a bit socially, I believe. I have that one too.

Perhaps a meditation practice can help...

Yes, Moog is correct-the astro.com program does account for daylight saving time, so just put your time of birth as it is into the data entry and you will obtain a correct chart (not going to mention LAT correction here so as not to confuse the newbie)

Here in UK the clocks go back at very specific times, ie:2am I think, but astro usually does all this for you..

Firstly, for a proper evaluation you should consider posting your chart with progressions and transits on same wheel found in extended chart selection. Reduce the ratio of orbs to 80%, select smallest image size 63% on picture, then choose house system (my personal preference is for Equal house rather than the default of placidus), right mouse click and select 'save target pic as' and save to hard drive then upload here

the above threads are 'how to' get, select and post the correct charts.

Re: Newbie - couple of questions

So apart from the bad moon-mercury and moon-saturn aspects is there anything else that could provide some insight about the depression and anxiety issues? I'm thinking maybe it's bad karma from a previous life, would that be indicated anywhere in my chart?

Re: Newbie - couple of questions

I think it's possible the depression and anxiety issues are foregrounded at present because Saturn is slowly trudging through your 12th house, gearing up to hit your Ascendant at some point this coming year, prior to which it opposes your natal Venus. As it goes retrograde through 2012, it makes a couple of hits to these points - Venus around April time and then back on the Ascendant after going direct around October time. The year ahead has the potential to be a challenging one, particularly around issues to do with relationships, your social life and your self-expression. However, the good news is that in your chart, you have Sun trine Saturn, and Moon conjunct Saturn which has the potential to give you staying power and endurance, allowing you to steer a steady course through some possibly difficult times.
