Is there a progression that has had a lasting impact on you?

I'm curious as to what people think. Can progressions leave a lasting impact on a person? I mean if they are similar to a transit, and if transits can affect us in different ways that may be far reaching and that may fundamentally bring about change in our lives and personalities. What do people think?

I currently have my progressed moon in scorpio (I think I have about a year left), my natal moon is in Libra in the 8th house. T Pluto is also square my natal moon, and all of this is bringing up a lot of buried emotion and also a strong desire within myself to get more in touch with these emotions and to change how I relate intimately with people in my life.

Has anyone else felt that a particular progression has had lasting consequences, even after the progression has ended? Or have you experienced them more as temporary changes in your life?

Please share your thoughts and experiences!

Re: Is there a progression that has had a lasting impact on you?

Progressions can be long lasting changes, I have had my progressed sun in scorpio for 28 years now, for the first 20 years of my life I was a libran sun through and through, when my sun changed into scorpio I became so emotionally intense that I didn't know what the hell was going on, I didn't know about astrology at that time! My natal mars/neptune conjunction in scorp was activated by my progressed sun moving into scorp, and as my natal venus and mercury progressed into scorp I really felt the changes. I have only 2 years left until my sun progresses into sagg, (I'm counting the days down), I can feel this change already, (2 degree orb), and am becoming much more "jovial", and less intense.

Re: Is there a progression that has had a lasting impact on you?

That's very interesting. So you've definitely felt your progressed sun, which you've lived with for the last 28 years, but in terms of other (more fast moving) progressions, have you felt that the ways in which they impacted you have had lasting results, long after the planet has progressed again?

My progressed sun is in aries (I'm a pisces sun natally) but it went into aries when I was very young. I couldn't honestly say how it has affected me, perhaps I'll only know when it progressed yet again...

Re: Is there a progression that has had a lasting impact on you?

My progressed sun & ascendant have been in Aries for most of my life. When I first learnt basic natal astrology, I could not understand why I have been and felt so Arian, until I learnt about progressions. Only recently have my sun progressed into Taurus and it feels like such a relief from all that passion and tension and forging ahead that characterised most of my life. I feel the change will have a lasting affect on me. It is like a huge relief valve has flown open and the Taurus energy is soothing. It feels like I can suddenly relax and not be in constant tension and anxiety so much. Progressions is a bigger deal than I thought. And I want to add that I am looking forward to Ascendant and Mercury moving out of Aries too. It's a very exhausting energy. I don't like it.

As far as lasting consequences, I have burnt myself out with that progressed sun & asc in Aries and natal Mars conjunct Jupiter in 6th house. I don't know if I'll ever recover permanent good health & vitality again. Perhaps some time spent in progressed Taurus will bring peace and grounding and physical strength. I hope so...

Re: Is there a progression that has had a lasting impact on you?

How many examples would you like to read to prove it does?

Sec. progr. Venus conjunct M.C. together with progr. Mars conjunct Pluto.
Met man later to become husband.
Sec. prog. Venus conjunct Uranus, sextile Pluto; married him.
Mars and Venus are ruler/major co-ruler 9th house. Husband was/is a foreigner.
progr. Jupiter(rulerI.C.) within 1 degr. orb. square natal Sun in 9th. I left my homeland for good to settle abroad. Husband is a Sag. Sun.

Sec. progr.Moon conjunct I.C. coincided with beginning first pregnancy.

Greatest impact: sec. progr. Sun exact conjunct Saturn in 10th. Sun rules 12th house, Saturn rules 5th house.
Not only did this coincide within a week of dad's death but, to the day, in the meeting again with the man who had had
the biggest effect on my life.

Sec. progr. Sun conjunct 11th house cusp. Having become a supporter of the team in which my daughter danced, I joined the dancing club with my husband. We joined and got chatting to 2 couples at the same table. We have all long stopped dancing, yet 17 years later are still very good friends.

Husband:
Greatest impact: sec. progr. Sun Aquarius in 6th sextile natal Sun in 4th opp. retro.Saturn in 10th. Sec. progr. retro. Saturn opp. natal Sun. Natal retro. Mars, long turned direct, and sec. progr. Mars EXACT conjunct natal Mars.
Unexpected but accepted early retirment. This was for the best as later high blood pressure, heart problem and further complications were discovered.

Son: Natal Sun in Aquarius in 1st house.
sec. progr. Sun Pisces square Neptune-M.C in Sagittarius. Fell in love, failed final exams for manual therapy,
sec. progr. Mercury conjunct Venus Pisces, married a Sun in Libra (ruler Venus),
Greatest impact: Sec progr. Sun and tr. Uranus conjunct Venus. Sec. progr. Mars sextile Venus. Deceiving wife wanted and obtained a divorce which 'broke his heart'.
Sec. progr. Moon (ruler 6th house) through 12th and then conjunct Mercury, Asc. and natal Sun. Unemployed, took temp. work for a t.v. call centre whilst studying for exams in niew field.

With progressions, things do have a way of occuring as they must, with the transits providing the necessary push..

In my husband's case, the progressions appear to have prolonged his life.
Pressure may have otherwise taken its toll on him.

In my son's case and with hindsight, his divorce was for the best. It made him concentrate on himself and pick up the pieces of his own life again (tr. Uranus/Aquarius influence?). With trauma and difficulty he got through the transits Saturn-Pluto to his natal Moon-Pluto in 7th. He went back to his 'first love'....the Neptune-M.C. in Sagittarius helping profession. He is now a fully qualified and specialised First Aid instructor, providing instruction for large professional businesses.

Ummmmm....I've got 2 daughters as well, if you're interested.

Re: Is there a progression that has had a lasting impact on you?

My natal Venus is about 23 pisces.
Currently, progressed to 29 aries, but progressed Venus goes retrograde and back tracks. It will not go direct and progress to Taurus in my lifetime.
I think this is quite impactful. Should I live to be 90, I will have had Prog. Venus Aries for some 80 years!
When prog. venus was 24' aries, it conjuncted natal midheaven and trined natal uranus, ruler of 7th.
Since that time, I have had more than a few hits and misses with men. Lots in fact. Too many. Unlike my general attraction to artistic, musical and creative, academic types, I devoloped an attraction and dated cop, sailor, MMA fighter, bodybuilder, motorcyclists.
It's been strange to say the least.
This was also complimented by a transit of uranus conj. natal venus during prog. venus crossing midheaven. Lots of sudden, from~out~of~nowhere and short lasting relationships since that time. Progressed moon is at 9 aries. Soon enough, it will cross my mh and trine natal uranus and then conjuct my prog. venus at 29 aries.
