Midpoints

What effects do they have? How does distance play into it? I'm also interested in all the random planets' midpoints as well as Sun and Moon.

Do easy aspects to midpoints count at all? What if there's a very close easy aspect to a planet that is conjunct a midpoint?

"Sun/Node = Children"

AAHHH PLUTONIAN CHILDREN! Sorry, had too. My NN is conjunct Mars and Mars is trine Uranus, forming a talent triangle with Pluto at the midpoint. Pluto has 0 hard aspects so it's probably fine. There are so many paradoxes on my chart...

I was just looking at midpoints now. How can one find out what aspects they have to what midpoints? Is this available through astro.com?

You can get it on astro.com, but only near midpoints, not far, from what I've seen. Far midpoints are significant too, as Grand Trines use far midpoints and minor grand trines use near midpoints.

I went to Pullen Charts and then midpoints but I'm wondering where one can find a midpoint tree for example i.e. Merc = Venus/Mars

And also aspects to midpoints in a chart?

midpoints
I have my chart ruler Uranus conj Sun/moon midpoint and mercury conj Asc/MC midpoint. These two are the most important as far as midpoints go. They can be very sensitive points, espec to progressions, transits and solar arcs. To watch/research how these points play out make a note of the degree for example my sun/moon = 3' 05" taururs, but any at that degree in 'fixed' will be considered same as conj, square or opposition. Same with Asc/MC being 'outlet or exit points' for planets energies. So although I have mercury retrograde natally, having this conj Asc/MC I've always known that communications, written, verbal, relating, analysing are important to me but in practical way (taurus merc)

The Point of Meaning
Sun/Moon Mid-point

The most important midpoint in astrology, the Sun/Moon midpoint represents the externalization, practical realization, purpose and the meaning of personal existence. The sign placement of your Sun / Moon midpoint will reveal your overall character. The house placement of your Sun / Moon”

The orb has to be very tight 1’ or max 1’30” to be effective though

I recommend that you turn off your computer and invest in a copy of The Annual Diagram as an Aid in Life by Ebertin. This book explains the 45 Degree System and how to employ Graphic Ephemeris.

C.O.S.I as suggested by Frank is considered affectionately as the midpoint Bible.
Directions Co-determinates of Fate and Transits. What day is favourable for me? also by Ebertin, I recommend.

I join with JerryRR and Frank in suggesting the Ebertin books for the best explanation of mid-points and their delineations, but I will add that very direct, terse, clear cut delineations might perhaps best be found in Witte's "Rules for Planetary Pictures", easily available from astroamerica. com (along with the recommended Ebertin books as well)

Me? As usual (for me) I have taken the midpoint concept to another level, and have been influenced in my thinking by the related concepts of Lots, plus certain old time Greco/Roman ideas, applied to the midpoint concept and methodology*...

(*such as considering the planetary monomoiria of the degree in which the midpoint falls, as being like a conjunction of the midpoint planets with the monomoiria planet of the degree in which the midpoint falls; also considering any star which conjuncts the midpoint as having a major modifying effect upon the midpoint; also, creating a qualitative midpoint chart using each planet relative to the 4 sign considerations in which it falls: ie, make a midpoint for each seperate planet considered in its sign plus in its decan-sign {Manilius decan} plus in its duodenary-sign plus in its monomoiria-sign; also in making a symbolic midpoint chart by finding the midpoint of the ascending degree from its sign plus its decan-sign plus its duodenary-sign plus its monomoiria-sign, then using the resultant midpoint as the "midpoint ascendant" and erecting the rest of the chart around that! These variations, however, are not mentioned in the authoritative books on midpoints, and I mention them here only to show that the midpoint concept is capable of many experimental applications)
