Re: Resettlement to back home

Can you post your charts? It is a courtesy on astrology internet forums. Some good free charts are available on the "free charts" pp. at www.astro.com .

Since this is a relocation question, after you've done your birth charts, click on "special charts" and then call up the map for each of you called "Astromap World" (or for more detail, do Astromap Asia and Astromap North America.)

Also, western astrology tends not to be very deterministic. "Will you return" may not be the operative question, so much as "should you return" or "when would be a good time to return?" For the best response, can you indicate where in India you are thinking of relocating? It's a big country!

If you are considering emigrating to a place very distant from your birth locations, you can also post relocation charts. If you return close to your birth places, however, it isn't worth the extra trouble.

This is a lot of charts, so it's OK to put them in a few separate posts.

You both sound highly educated and India's economy is expanding so it is well to consider your options.

Re: Resettlement to back home

thank you waybread for your reply. please find the charts in these couple of posts. Also as you requested, we are planning to move to the state of Gujarat in India where we all three born. We may relocate ourselves either Vadodara, Surat or Navsari cities.

I will appreciate if you can take time to look into my query.

Re: Resettlement to back home

Thanks, desai--that simplifies life.

Please keep in mind that I am only an amateur, but I will give your questions my best shot.

I think a lot hinges on where you consider "home" to be, on a deep emotional level. Is it Canada, or does Canada still seem very much like a foreign country to you? Is it the region of India where you and your wife grew up? I think the answer to this question will have a lot to do with your ultimate happiness, whether or not you make a lot of money in your future business ventures.

I say this because the moon indicates one's sense of home, among other things; and the sun indicates one's sense of identity. You have your rising sign, the moon, Venus, and sun in Taurus-- a very solid and stability-loving sign. Wherever "home" is for you now, you would seem to want to put down deep roots. [This pattern is reinforced by your 4th house of "home" cusp in Cancer, ruled by the moon, which puts us back in your Taurus nature.]

The paradox, however, is that your best chances for making money seem to be "overseas", whatever that looks like to you. So a good solution might be to make your home in the place that seems most homelike to you, while keeping up international business contacts. (Isn't the Internet wonderful?)

Also, just now transiting Pluto is squaring your north node of personal growth as well as its own position in your natal chart, so you may be feeling very strongly that you need to make major changes in your life. Regardless of whether you stay or go, this is a good time to clear out anything that is metaphorically dead or dying in your life, so that some new growth can take place. Since you and your wife are close to the same age, she is no doubt feeling this need for major change, as well.

I guess the question is, do you need to externalize these changes with a move and new business venture, or can you handle them more as an internal, psychological adjustment?

It is interesting that both your wife and son seem to have a see-saw kind of tug between home (the 4th house) and international travel (the 9th house), though in different ways. So with your family there appears to be be no clear-cut answer about staying or moving, because they are natally somewhat conflicted in the issue of whether to go or stay: they would see advantages and disadvantages either way. However, motherhood would seem to be very important to your wife, with her moon (in this case, her emotions and feelings) in the 5th house of children.

So a big consideration, also, would be which country would offer the best opportunities for your son's education and childhood. His Mercury (thoughts, communication) is very strong in its own sign of Gemini and he is probably like a big sponge, soaking up new information; but with the square from Mars and Uranus, he may appear to have more energy than his teachers and parents can easily handle!

Anything you can do to let him run around and blow off some steam (whether through sports or a large back-yard) would be beneficial.

In terms of "when" if you decide to move, right now Jupiter is in Taurus, and it will be hitting your natal planets in this sign during the coming months. You can take advantage of its sense of optimism and confidence-- provided you have also drafted a sketch of a sound business plan! later this year and into summer, 2012, Saturn will be squaring your midheaven (10th house cusp of career.) This may feel like a time of tremendous responsibility and hard work; possibly with some upsets when it conjuncts your Uranus in October of this year. But you would have these feelings regardless of whether you stayed or moved.

More soon....

Re: Resettlement to back home

The maps you posted will tell their own story.

You will notice lines running through them, indicating a relationship between particular planets and the angular lines (house cusps) in your horoscope. MC is one's career, IC is one's home, AS is one's rising sign (outward personality, body), and DS indicates permanent relationships such as marriage.

If you construct these maps at Astrodienst using their free "astro-click travel" page, they are actually interactive: you can click on sites, and a pop-up will give you a lot more information about particular places and their potential in your life.

Mississauga and Ontario in general do not appear to be really powerful places for you. (Again, the astro-click travel feature will provide more detail than these maps do: worth checking out.) You can see that no planetary lines pass near where you live now. If you decide to stay in Canada, you might consider relocating to Calgary or Edmonton, Alberta, where your sun/MC and moon/MC lines cross. The moon is helpful for establishing a home.

Jupiter is a good luck factor, and it is interesting that your MC/Jupiter line passes through northeastern Nova Scotia.

Then Gudjarat province actually looks good for you--notably the western part, with your moon/MC line. Saturn/MC might be good for administrative work and being in a position of authority, but it can also indicate a lot of hard work.

Your wife's maps show a different picture, however. They are not the same as yours. Southern Ontario looks good for her home life (sun/IC line). Her moon/MC line passes through New Brunswick/eastern Quebec. And if she can ever get to the North Slope of the Arctic ocean, she should be a real power-house up there! (Juding from the big intersection of planetary lines.) With her Mars/Asc line running through Alberta, she might find it very energizing, but Mars (the god of war) can bring quarrels or competition, as well.

She has two lines running through or near Gudjarat province. Neither one of them looks supremely wonderful. Chiron, the little planetoid whose symbol looks like a key, shows us "where it hurts." Uranus can bring either a sense of liberation or unwanted disruption. Fortunately your wife's Uranus is pretty well aspected, so she is more likely to experience its beneficial potential. Northeast India looks more beneficial for her. It may be possible to live in your home province, but have business dealings in areas that look especially promising.

If you've got the hang of this now, you can see how your son's planetary lines map out.

There are no perfect answers and solutions in our imperfect world, but hopefully astrology can help you to make the best choices for yourself and your family.

Good luck to you!

Re: Resettlement to back home

I would have thought it would depend on whether you can get work back home/India and what standard of living you want.

Your question would be suitable for a horary question, IF you follow the basic rules
http://www.astrologyweekly.com/forum/faq.php?faq=horary#faq_horary_astrology_boards
You could try asking a horary question in that forum, by posting a chart and asking a question with yes or no answer but first you need to learn few basics and at least attempt an interpretation as horary is inundated with silly questions and senior members get very frustrated....

Re: Resettlement to back home

Vimal, you are welcome.

Might I suggest that you consult a professional astrologer in your area? You might prefer to deal with an Indian (Vedic) astrologer. I am an amateur, on-line here essentially as a hobby, and my time is limited. It would take me several hours to do the astrology necessary in order to answer your questions in a competent way.

The 9th house rules overseas travel. With two planets in the 9th house, and Jupiter as the house ruler, a travel business seems like a good choice for you, however.

Probably what you would want to do in terms of the timing of a new business and move, is to get an astrologer to do some "electional" astrology, in which you can pinpoint the ideal exact time of the establishment of your business as well as your household move. This can be done with reference to your chart alone, or in combination with your family members.

As I mentioned above, I don't view astrology in a deterministic, fortune-telling kind of way. If astrology had complete accuracy and human choices were non-existent, then simply giving someone a read-out of the rest of his life might be possible and sensible. I think astrology indicates good and bad times (and places) for something to happen, and a certain level of probability about the future; but I believe we make decisions that affect our future outcomes, just as we are affected by the choices of people around us.

I think some astrologers are clarivoyant/psychic; and I believe that Hindu astrology is more deterministic than the modern western astrology I have studied. Also, some professional astrologers are simply better at forecasting future events than I am.

In terms of getting an old age pension; as a new Canadian myself, I think we have to consider what our citizenship in this country really means. Also, hopefully you have determined the amount of money for which you would be eligible if you worked in Canada for only 10 years. I don't think it is a large amount, and it comes with a "ceiling" based on your retirement income from other sources. If you have more retirement income than the OAP upper limit, the government will cut it back. With a lower cost-of-living in India, however, a Canada pension should go further than it would here.

Good luck with your decisions!
