Earthy Leo boy

At a party recently I was doing natal charts for a couple of friends, one of whom I'm somewhat interested in romantically--I can't quite decide yet. We're both Leos, and I'm not generally attracted to other Leos, but there was something very thoughtful and intense and "watery" about him that I liked, even though in many ways he's a pretty typical Leo man (from my experience--all of the Leos I've met, and there have been many, are opinionated and perfectionistic and a bit intimidating.) Was just wondering if you could give me any insight into the sort of person he might be. (I didn't want to ask about a synastry chart quite yet, since I imagine we'd be fairly compatible; just wanted to learn more about him.)

(Figured I might find him so compelling because in addition to the Leo sun, we're both rising Earth signs with suns in "water" houses--mine in 8th, his in 12th--and we both have Mars Square Pluto aspects, which I've heard can be troublesome in males...)
