Spica on the IC?

Hi,

I just discovered Spica is conjunct my IC. I have done extensive Googling, and while I have a grasp of this star's meaning, I'm not sure how to interpret its placement. Is it not as important or influential as a placement on the ASC or MC? What might its influence be on the IC?

The IC can be considered the beginning of a star's rising; interpret Spica as "when rising" from the literature.
It would also have a major influence of the IC house, the areas of life involved with that house; also see what planet (or planets) Spica is within 1.5 degrees Parallel with: same side of the ecliptic; that would be like a powerful conjunction of Spica with the palnet(s) in Parallel to it...also check the declination of the ascending degree and of the MC (you'll find all that information in the pdf addition to free charts @ astro.com) If Spica is within 1.5 degrees Parallel of either of those points (same side of the ecliptic) then you would have the equivalent of a close conjunction of Spica with the Parallel point (ascending degree or MC as the case might be)
