UK - Saturn Return.

Hi all,

I was struck by the fact that very recently, the popularly used chart for the UK, the 1st Jan 1801 chart, has just experienced a Saturn return at 23 Leo in the nation's eleventh. The conjunction is still in effect, and I am very suprised to find that this Saturn return, which should be an event of considerable significance, does not seem to be mentioned on any astrology sites on the internet and seems to have passed by unnoticed. I am a bit suprised by this, as the Saturn return occurs only once about every 29 years, so such an event should at least merit a mention. There are obviously not enough mundane astrologer's in the world for this to go unnoticed.

I have been thinking about what the consequences of this Saturn return might be for the UK, but to be honest I'm not sure. The only issues of particular importance in the UK I can think of recently are fears about immigration and the controversial issue about whether or not muslim women should be allowed to wear the haqib in public, as well as the major overcrowding of prisons and what should be done about it. Then again, I'm not sure these issues are grand enough to be being influenced in the main by the Saturn return.

Natally the UK has a very malefic Saturn, it being in it's detriment and retrograde, it only blessing being in the fortunate eleventh. I imagine that this return of a debilitated Saturn should be highlighting grave problems for the nation or mark out the heavy and difficult responsiblilties.

I am just wondering about this Saturn return and what it may signify. Perhaps I should now as I am in the UK, but I am actually quite unsure.

Transitting Saturn passed through the same degree as the UK's natal Saturn between the 19th October and the 2nd November, making this the most intense period of the conjunction, transitting Saturn being most closely conjoined with mundane Saturn.

The Saturn return perfected on the afternoon of the 23rd October.

Ideas anyone?

Re: UK - Saturn Return.

Hi Draco,
Im a Brit and this is the first Ive heard about the UK's saturn return.
You mentioned Immigration, well I think this is definately one of the issues related to this aspect.
I can give you one an example of how I believe this Saturn return for the UK may be having an impact in my life.I live in Goa,a destination increasingly popular with Brits for holidays and residency. When I talk to the Brits when they come here they almost always mention the increase of immigrants in their society as a reason for leaving the UK. They will tell you that they walk down their home street and dont hear a single person speaking English! This is one of the reason why Brits are leaving the UK.At the same time here, the Indian Government are toughening up on Brits in particular, making it difficult for them to purchase property here.British package holiday deals to Goa were slashed by half this season in favour of Russian package deals, even though the Brits have always remained loyal to Goa as a holiday destination, many returning year after year. This is all tough on Brits and I wonder if this is down to Saturn, restricting and providing harsh lessons to large groups of people(11th),dimming the light from Uks sun(leo).
It may only be an example from my own personal experience but I do believe this feeling is reflective in many people in many areas of the UK.
May I add that this is a view I have observed from many people and I am talking about them as a whole, not my own personal point of view.

Re: UK - Saturn Return.

Hi Draco,

I think if we look at Saturn as the general significator of authority we might have our answer. 11th house = Parliament and I don't think there has ever been a time when the British public have felt such apathy and frustration towards a ruling party and its Government/authority figures (i.e the Police and prison system)in general. It's probably true to say that Tony was only re-elected because there was no other choice at the time. Now he's on his way out and this is a pivotal time for politics.

I'm not sure exactly what's going to happen but I still maintain that The Royal Family looks set for a big change soon. Tony is performing his swan-song (interesting that Comet Swan is visible over the UK and is apparently connected to a fixed star associated with politics) we are also still in the midst of the 'Presidential Death Cycle' (Jupiter/Saturn) so potentially a global upset could be mirrored in the UK Saturn return. Additionally in the interweaving of cycles we are shortly going to see Pluto enter Capricorn.

I wouldn't expect an event exactly on the Saturn return, it's a phase and if you look at the past months in Politics generally, the 'return' theme of having to take responsibility for where you are at, your values etc then the UK is currently manifesting that.

I also recall an astrologer saying that Saturn returns bring a sense of relief. A new party and leadership may well fit the bill of that one !

Kx
PS We also need to 'batten down the hatches' (saturn) on our immigration policy.

Re: UK - Saturn Return.

Just to add to what has already been said, although I'm not too mundanely-minded.
Transiting Saturn will make 3 passes over its natal position in the 1801 chart, the final being next July. I also wondered if this would see a change of government with the Leo/Saturn/11th house influence. Transiting Saturn then goes on to oppose natal Pluto at the same time that secondary progressed Mars is within opposition orb natal Pluto. Could this imply a show of force OR a withdrawal from it for the new government ?

It's also interesting that transiting MEAN Black Moon Lilith is conjunct natal 12th house Uranus that is quincunx natal Pluto in Pisces. Can't help wondering if this also refers to yet again some sort of hidden 'gunpowder plot' at this time that will eventually be revealed before it ever gets the chance to take place.

Post Re: UK - Saturn Return.

On my journeys back and forth fromthe Uk I have noticed that this saturn return you talking about could have actually have been quite positive but with in Larger competitions/ Organisations and in the Compettive fields such as, sports: Liverpool winning the cup, o the Olympic bid, Dame kelly Holmes, Winning the ashes and now the multi casino being built in the Dome...Thank god!

Negatively , BMP getting more seats. Islam and Immigration are Huge bones of contention. Actually if i'm honest anything non white really seems to be making the press in a real negative fashion. The tension is no doubt getting worse in the UK. But unlike some countries, this included the anyone not British. I think it's scary in Euroe in general now. There is so much covert hate.

Live and let live.
we should be tollerant of difference:60:

Re: Prince Harry's father, no way he's a Windsor.

Draco, every single issue you raised is a Saturn issue , so are you just looking for something "louder"? Saturn retro is about going back at lessons that should have been assimilated in the past. All these issues are about rules and boundaries, but you didn't even mention the war in Iraq, which must concern Brits as well as us in the USA. It all seems karmic to me, your country's past as an imperial power, the exclusion or stranger populations, sifting out what is acceptable from foreign traditions, etc.I don't think this is exactly answering your question, but it all seems in line to me.
